They actually did have a bad batch of bushing about that time go through. Not enough hardener or something wasn't added to the mix when the were making them. I purchased some replacement bushing...

The 4.0 often develop a piston slap noise as well. My old 4.0 motor had it...kinda sounded like a small diesel engine.

I use POR15... it works great on the rust and sandblasted metal. It doesn't adhere to well on new metal. The do have a "metal prep" for new metal that helps. I use that and then coat it twice.

It will cure death wobble that is associated with the track bar...there are other things that can cause death wobble.

I've also found it easier to remove the tcase side of the driveline, then you can swing the driveline out of the way.
