    Re: Transmission Question

Hmmm, in that case I would look into getting it rebuilt. I used to have a 95 2wd and rebuilt the trans, engine and rear axle then sold it when I moved. Way I looked at it, was cheaper than a...

    Re: Transmission Question

Yeah, I am not usually a fan of auto's but prefer them when playing offroad. I can finesse them a little more.

As for the JY option, the local pull a parts have warranties here, don't know if...
  3. Re: My to do list of modifications, slowly shrinking...

Looking good. Seems like my list grows 2 items for every one that I check off lol

    Re: Steering gear brace

Good deal on the JCR spacer. Mine looks pretty much like what you have there.

    Re: Anyone running Clayton Suspensions?

Wow, nice looking rig! I am saving my pennies for the Clayton kit. I got to see a 2000 out on the trails this weekend with the full kit. Other than a horrible choice in tires, it worked really...

    Re: My XJ

Good news is there was no other damage other than the box coming off. I steam cleaned it top to bottom so now I have a nice clean area to work on it :) Can't say the same for our wash pit though lol

    Re: My XJ

Doesn't appear to be any damage to the frame. Not even a crack or scratch. It happened all at once. I am going to check out the track bar mount as well. I am sure that took a hit when the front...

    Re: Steering gear brace

Yeah, I don't have the inner plate but do have the ARB bumper with the long mounts. It doesn't look too hard to fab, I may just make one instead of buying a kit.

    Re: My XJ

I have a gear coming in the morning as well as new tie rods and lines. Going to put a brace on it and see what else I can do to keep it from happening again.

    Re: Steering gear brace

I will be adding one! I sheared mine off on the trail this weekend. Getting it a mile down the trail with no steering is not fun at all!

    Re: My XJ

Well, I took the XJ out this weekend and am glad that I brought it on the trailer. Wheeled it for about an hour and then sheared the steering box off. It actuall broke the bolts and the bracket on...

    Re: My XJ

Hah, yeah, there are a few creek crossings that I run across. Hoping to figure out what axles I am going to be running shortly that way I can plan on the other upgrades around it. I have a buddy...

    Poll: Re: Are you locked?

    I am not locked yet...

However, I will run selectable lockers in both front and rear axles! I have seen nearly stock rigs with lockers hang with the big dogs.

    Re: CB antenna mount

I plan to mount mine in the center of the wiper cowl. I figure that with it being in the center of the vehicle and lower than the roof it should stay out of harm's way pretty good.
  15. Re: Quick question!!! - Can I drive without the O2 sensor?

Yup, I only have the upstream sensor on mine currently and it is running ok. I am going to get a new sensor and put it back in the exhaust like it is supposed to be. Not a fan of wires dangling...

    Re: My XJ

Yeah, I pulled the front bumper off today to take to work with me and several of the bolts were loose. I plan to "nut and bolt" it from front to back. I did a visual inspection when I did all the...

    Re: My XJ

Yeah, just really time consuming fabbing all the brackets to the 44/9 to work with the coil suspension etc. Would almost be easier to run coilovers and homebrew links with the axle swap.

    I am a...

    Re: My XJ

No, not planning to go too radical with this one...at least appearing. I am thinking about putting Rubicon axles under it or a D44/9" combo with air or electric lockers, really leaning towards a...

    Re: Anyone running Clayton Suspensions?

That setup looks good man! Everyone that I have seen running a rear 4 link around me also doesn't have the back half of the XJ left lol.

Well, here it is! Have some work to do but I am ready to build another rig. My winch and tires should hopefully be here tomorrow.

    Enjoy!

    Anyone running Clayton Suspensions?

I am upgrading the short arm kit that is currently on my 98 XJ and really like the way the Clayton kit looks. Can't find too much info on people running them though. I know quite a few people with...

    Re: SC offroading

I run Carver quite frequently as it is right down the road. I have been out there and encountered the 5-oh. They were looking for underage drinking etc. People dumping trash and tires is killing...
