Very Nice!! Now you will have to post pic's on the mounting. And I like to ask guys why they went with cable instead of rope, the opinions are endless. So why did you go with cable?

Whats wrong with a gutter mount? There are a lot of fab designs out there, As far as weight how much stuff do you want to put up there? Tire, jack some tools?
Allot of good advise on here for & about your build. Not everything you put on your jeep should be or needs to be new. If you can find it used and re-build it, or clean it up as new than you both...
A SYE is a must then. I didn't use a drop bracket. I shimmed the rear end 4 deg, and it lined up perfect.
There is a spare in the box.
X2, I have 6.5and have one, 4.5" I would have one too
2 things, its built not bought & about $47 bucks!!! Good times
So to add a little extra protection to my steering I fabbed up a brace. $3.60 at Park Rose Hardware for the U-bolt, about an hour of time, some black spray paint and all is good.

Ok I know this a very late reply to the post back in February. I have used the Engo winch a few times and I have no complaints at all. The line speed isn't going to break speed recorders but it fast...
Im using a rustys setup, Track bar is great, same angle at the draglink. Its all good
Lets look at the D30 front axle. Its in every cherokee ( maybe with exception in a few ) ever made, its more jeeps that any other front end and there still going strong. You can put the $$$ into a...
Another problem I found on all my jeeps ( XJ's ) the rain gutter at the back hatch. Open the hatch and feel all the goo that gets trapped in there. I cant be sure this was the cause of my leak, maybe...
My 89 did it!! I used the hose, drove it through the car wash, could never find it!!! Until I took the headliner out, it was leaking from an old roof rack mount hold & the top of the windsheild. The...
I run an Aussie in the front of mine, with 32 swampers & stock axles I've never had a problem. My new build I did 4:56, Aussie in the front, Detroit in the rear. D44 in the rear and all stock axles,...
And the cases I did see in other area's were $200 or more:crazy:
Here is the latest..... I found a gear $100, no cases in my area. So I think it will work out even. I just had the case apart to do the SYE, so no oil in it and it should come apart easy.
Thank you, It did
Question 1, what years do the spline counts change? Reason.... My 93 build has a 242, I have a 231 that I just re-built with a SYE. After removing the 242, I see the 242 is 23 spline, the 231 is a 21...
Can you cut the end out at install new ones? I just installed a Rustys OTK system. It installed pretty nice
After doing the math, and looking this over for a while, I think the RE shackle will do the job. I didn't want to go with a bastard pack on this build. I have done that on my other builds. I will...
Ok right now, with the daystar shackles I still need to go about 4 deg on my rear pinion. Im going to install a 1.5" RE boomerang, after already measuring it, it sit in the same place it is now. With...
What rear springs were you using?
I have 6" now, just regular shackles. 2" seems to short, doesn't seem that I would have very motion. And does it change the pinion angle? As I sit now i will need to add about 4 degrees
So as my 93 build moves along, I will be installing some boomerang shackles in the rear for all the typical XJ shackle problems. I can go with RE 6" or JKS 2" Anyone use one or the other? Liked it?,...
