Re: 98XJ stock air filter has to go

We usually only get one or two snows per year, but I did think about that. I almost always clear off the vent anyway knowing it must be clear for the HVAC.

Re: 98XJ stock air filter has to go

I did see that type of in-line filter somewhere on the webs. It's kind of cone shaped.

I cut out the cowl sheet metal today on the passenger side, exposing the void. Looks pretty easy to...

Re: 98XJ stock air filter has to go

Here is a link I found, that seems like the best way for me to go about this.

Re: 98XJ stock air filter has to go

I have been looking around the interwebs, and this cowl idea is starting to look pretty good.

I'm going to take a look inside there today, and see what is available at the big box parts store.

Re: 98XJ stock air filter has to go

Thanks, I have also thought about that idea, but worried about the battery venting in the passenger compartment. Also have an issue with lack of space in the back already.

Re: Home built On Board Welder

This Idea does work, I have one in my YJ.

I had a local alternator shop guy build me one using a 220 amp Challenger alternator.
Since I needed him to remove the voltage regulator, this was...

    Re: 5 psi electric supercharger??

Someone did put two gas drive leaf blowers on a corvette engine once and it worked.

A friend of mine made a supercharger out of an old Kirby vacuum cleaner once.
It worked great all the way up...
  10. Re: I want to open my rear hatch from the inside

I made a release for my 98 XJ, using a length of stainless steel wire.

I just removed the inner plastic cover, and took a real close look at how the latch worked when released with the outside...

    Re: Headlights Angled too High?

I like to find a big flat wall with a (real) flat parking lot, like the back of the local grocery store.

Drive up to the wall so you are square to it & stop about 40 yards from it.

    Line the...

    Re: You and your differential!

    Really interesting video.

Very easy to understand, and now I want to try running on top of a tire too!

Re: Do I need to lower my transfer case?

Please note; if you do a T/C drop, the crossmember is held up by two bolts & two studs with nuts. These are not only a PITA to remove, they have little shoulders on the studs about midway down their...
