Re: Heater switch only works on full high

You might as well go with a new one. They tend to live a hard life so if you pull one from a JY chances are you are going to replace it soon anyway.

This one is from my dad's 2003 F150. The one...

    Re: The Challenge Build

The 44's in Grands are the aluminum center section 44A. Parts are harder to come by and the aluminum can crack if you bang it off something. It would not be worth the trouble to swap in.
  3. Re: XJ Rear Window Wiper (Rebuild, Repair or Writeup)

Mine started sticking at half rotation a few months ago. I took it out with the intention of just replacing it, then I saw the price and figured I should probably try and get it going. I don't...

Re: Factory wiring behind front bumper

One of my mirrors is heated and one is not, I guess one was replaced at some point, though I'm not sure which. It's not listed on my build sheet. The passenger side is heated, though I'd rather my...

    Re: Differential Difference

A live axle is a beam style solid axle that has power. So, our xj's have live axles front and rear, regardless of whether they are open or locked.

    Re: Rear window Washer ....

Mine didn't work, but I replaced the pump, both for the front and rear. They are cheap, and live a hard life up in the wheelwell.

    Re: Jeep dies while driving

It might be the fuel pump. If the filter was clogged, it would have put a lot of strain on the pump. I had a similar problem with a Taurus. The fuel pump wasn't totally dead, but would quit...

Re: Taking advantage of my furlough days

I buy a bag of sunflower seeds pretty much whenever I have a 3 hour or more car ride. I like David brand Ranch, but I'm interested in trying bbq, bacon, or one of the other interesting flavors that...

    Re: Recent Changes, or Enhancements

I do listen to the podcast, not while I'm browsing the forums though. I check the forums once (or more daily). I usually listen to the podcast when I'm doing something like laundry. I can't read...

    Re: Recent Changes, or Enhancements

I liked it better when the upside down jeeps were green! I got a pretty good kick out of that for the day or whatever that was going. The tire is growing on me as well, mainly for the larger...

    Re: Winshield washer bottle

Awesome, though we are lucky with the cherokee and the pump is only about 10 bucks. I changed both my front and rear this spring.

    Re: My 01 xj build

I'm 29 now, and I have found that I don't have the time, nor the young body to ride all the time. I ride less and less each year, but I still get out now and then.

Re: So where do XJ's leak rainwater?

Coat the weatherstripping around the doors with baby powder. Spray the car with artificial rain, and wait a while. When you open the doors, you should be able to see if water was getting through...

    Re: Rough starts

I shouldn't really complain. The past few winters have been pretty mild in Michigan.

    Re: Rough starts

Started like normal both times I drove today. Hoping I just had some sort of isolated fluke problem, but I'm sure as soon as I forget about it the problem will resurface and be worse.
