I see it everyday and recommend to everyone who owns an XJ to carry a spare. I ran mine over a year with a bad one by simply unplugging it and re plugging it back in and it would start every time....

Only two reasons I can think of for that :
1. crank pos sensor
2. fuel pump heating up and shutting down
