I would definately say try carefully removing and cleaning the NSS just as said above, and if that doesn't work, you might look at your Crank Position Sensor.

Awesome writeup.. Will def. have to keep this in mind... Might even pick myself up a spare NSS and clean it up using this DIY... so I will have a good spare..
