Thats the mechanism at the opposite end of your steering column from the steering wheel, bolted to the frame rail.

Thats the mechanism at the opposite end of your steering column from the steering wheel, bolted to the frame rail.

Check tie rods, track bar, drag link, and if all is tight it could be the steering gear. That can be adjusted somewhat to tighten it.
