I tried that a few days ago. When I turned the fuel pump on, you could here what sounded like air running in the middle of the intake. Engine would not start for anything. Had fuel, had spark....

The throttle body is what throws me off. I have the newer intake on it, throttle body has 4 bolts to the intake. The Renix throttle body only has 3 bolts to the intake, and has all the sensors. So...
