You can hand pack the bearing, all a bearing packer does is make the job faster and cleaner. I still don't own a bearing packer. as far as a stop-gap fix, I don't know of one unfortuantely.

things I would check; motor mounts, trans/transfer mount, front drive shaft Ujoints then rear drive shaft Ujoints. wheel bearings will tend to make a single brake grab and lock up(personal...
