  1. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

@UKJeeper: Yeah, you guys really don't catch a break on fuel prices....isn't like over half that just taxes though?
  2. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

    And almost $4/gal.
  3. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Diesels do tend to have better torque, but with the cost of diesel right now...that would make for an expensive ride...I don't see how diesel pickup drivers manage...
  4. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

@UKJeeper: That would be another suggestion if it were more affordable. With a price tag difference of around $10k, I don't see an LJ as a viable option. Besides, they're outside my '97-'02 year...
  5. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

@4.3LXJ: V8 TJ? Now that sounds crazy fun!

@Rocco83: Wow, I think is sad when a '98 anything for $3,800 is a good deal...but the tires and tops were probably worth half that to begin with...
  6. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Well dog-gone it, hook me up! :D I can always swap a motor! Oh wait, *and* tranny...hmmm...how mousy are those 4 cylinders again? ;)

    Cheers,
  7. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Ooohhhh...yeah, four bangers are for tuners, not jeeps. ;-)
  8. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Wait, the gun caliber or the engine? ;-)
  9. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

    Errmmm..."4 cal" would that be a gun nut's version of a 4 cyl?" :-)
  10. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

ArmyGuy45: That Rubicon is sexy. I would *love* to snag a Rubi, but that would be a LOT more $$$ that I would not be able to save for a LONG time (like years)

But as a DD, I'm talking local...
  11. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

I figured an even up trade would be completely unrealistic, considering if everything between the jeeps was identical, the TJ would be worth roughly 2x as much.

But, finding one that was stock but...

    rofl Go-kart jeep mod!!!!! rofl

Well, another point is, I'm looking at a jeep for two reasons - fun daily driver and beach party driver! I am *not* looking to lift it to the moon, put 750"...
  13. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Wow, some really good pros/cons information LXJ!

Personally, aside from the occasional road trip from Delaware to Virginia and back again, I'm not looking at one as anything other than a local...
  14. Re: Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepster

Thanks Brasscatz! I'm pretty sure I really want to focus on getting a TJ, but hey - if you're open to trade negotiations and the YJ could be used as a safe reliable daily driver, I might be...
  15. Thinking of joining the Dark Side (TJ) and wanting advice from my fellow jeepsters...

I purchased my 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a 3" lift, only the rear leafs weren't done (Because the PO felt they didn't want a "body lift" only a "suspension lift" and didn't consider the leaf...

    Sticky: Re: Junkyard Parts List

I think we should build upon this list and maybe even make a "shopping list" for members to download! :D

    Love the list!

PS: I too would love a conversion howto on a 97+ console massaged into a...

Sticky: Re: Cheap Modifications and lifts.

This thread was a great idea and I think it needs a little resurrection. Perhaps when posting swap-outs that can be done, years can be used as well so that we know what year(s) of the swap-out we're...

Re: What did you do to your jeep today?

You might want to check the alternator if the battery's not making it - especially with the juice it takes to run subs.

Re: What did you do to your jeep today?

After seeing several posts on cleaning the throttle body being a Good Idea(tm), I decided to give it a go on this glorious mid-70's day we're having.

    Wow.

    Just...wow.

    If you haven't cleaned...

I will be waiting for some warmer (and dryer) weather before I pull the liner, but it's on my list...

I'll also be doing a writeup here in the near future for the dome light mod. I just need to...

    Re: Jeep Project...

I'll tell ya what, it really lights it up in there. The only part that isn't fully lit up is the rear area. So I'm contemplating some way to create one or two rear accessory lights that will light...

No, but I didn't really consider anyone wanting to know how it's done, since I considered it pretty basic. (Although I suppose for some, pulling their axles is considered pretty basic to them and I'd...
