Re: Replacing stereo with Android tablet

Yeah, that's what I kinda figured. Wanted that clarified before everyone got excited by double-din stereos. There's quite the size difference between the hole in your dash and a double-din head unit....

Re: Replacing stereo with Android tablet

Have any of you guys crammed a double-din head unit in to one of your XJs yet?

My 2000 XJ and my 91 MJ both came with the odd-sized "1.5 din" sized stereos from the factory so both have adapters...

Re: Replacing stereo with Android tablet

A bigger display would definitely be cool. Just imagine having something like the Torque app built right in to your console. That would be awesome!

I'd personally want it to be able to fold up...

Re: Replacing stereo with Android tablet

The geek in me also looks forward to seeing how you do this. Would love to hear more details on your plan.

My solution was simply to replace the factory cassette deck with a bluetooth capable head...

Sticky: Re: V8 ZJ Tie Rod Upgrade

The part numbers are fairly universal between brands. Sometimes they'll add a letter or something before the part #, but you're right it's usually almost identical across the board.

    Edit: Oh! I...

    Re: CANUCKS; Chime in here!

In spite of this thread being so stale, I'm guessing there are still a few Canadonians floating around here.

    I'm from Edmonton, Alberta.

If you live nearby and ever need a hand with something,...

    Looks like a bargain!

I won't even tell you Americans how many Canadian pesos I had to spend for all that moog junk. My new drag link (minus the TRE and adjuster) cost more than that whole kit.

    Building Recovery Lugs (Bumper?)

As I mentioned a couple of weeks back on the Jeep Talk Call In Show, I've been slowly fabricobbling some recovery lugs together. I thought maybe you guys would wanna see my mess. Perhaps it will...

    Re: Toe In

You guys all rock! Just got back from a cruise and the steering has actually never felt better. Thanks again for all the tips.

I like that idea of spinning the tire for a consistent line all the...

    Re: Toe In

Well, with all this positivity towards tape measures, I figured I'd give it another whirl. I grabbed my favorite tape measure and rolled around on the floor for awhile. Turns out I was about 1/8th...

    Re: Toe In

Oh no, really? I always thought the XJs had the same track width from front to back. Well, that explains a lot. Some days you just feel dumb.

    Toe In

    Hi guys!

I've been fiddling with my toe-in on my truck lately and I can't seem to find a spot that "feels" quite right. Part of me thinks it's just paranoia, but I wanna be sure. I think I've...

Haha, definitely an easy and effective upgrade. Unless you're prepared to do an over-the-knuckle conversion, this is the best upgrade you can do to your steering. I did the same as you and got a new...

Sticky: Re: V8 ZJ Tie Rod Upgrade

Just wanted to say I did this upgrade myself last spring on my 2000 Sport.

I was in desperate need of new tie rods anyway. I put on moog parts cuz it was the most readily available decent,...
