Axle upgrade options...

I just found out this past weekend that you can get a D44 out of a Honda passport... I asked the guy if it was a weak setup like the Grand Cherokee aluminum ones and he said he thought the same thing prior and he researched it to find it was a perfectly good D44 and not weak in any way.
What I would like to know is what OTHER options are out there to put some strength into our axles... I wil most likely do the honda D44 but I REALLY wanna know about the front axle.
Im mostly looking for D44 strength as I dont need D60's and ALL I can come up with is old school wagoneer narrow width to match the honda D44
PLEASE anybody lend me some advice so I can hit up the JY in the next few weeks!!!

Hard Start

Ever since I started mucking around with my exhaust manifold, an odd starting issue has popped up.

Once in a while I will get a hard start, itll whirl n whirl n whirl, let off, try again, itll kick and start, try and idle at around 400 rpm. Give it a little gas and itll start spitting and sputtering at 1200rpm and doesnt come out of it, but if I shut it off and restart, the problem is solved. Recent tune up, fuel filter and such.

Any suggestions?

Your average high mileage '95 Kee, 4.0L AW4.

i figured it was time i made a half a$$ build thread :) so here goes it started a 89 2 door 4.o ,auto,np231,d30/35 it was a fish n game vehicle so i has roll up windows and rubber floor covering instead of carpet i really like that part and it had a broken exhaust manifold since the day i bought it for $600 as my girlfriends first car :)

since then i have been slowly but surely building up parts first thing that went in was my pimp wood grain dash from a waggy at pick n pull

after that lol we swapped in the back half of a newer 23 spline case with a sye on it onto the front half of my 231 and put the t-case back in

then it was onto installing the rc la crossmember and t-case skid

i would have rather done the front suspension first but im waiting on a new d30 since mine is a disco axle so we decided to do the rear first with my new rc 4.5 " leaf packs and 2" shackles and we also swapped in my d44 with a zj disc brake swap and i had the spiders welded since its def not gonna be a dd

after that boredom got the best of me so i decided to cut the front fenders and re mount the stock flares cause imo it looks pretty clean that way

and with the flare re mounted :) with a 33 under it with no lift

ive still got tons of upgrades to come but thats all i got done for now let me know what you think :thumbsup:

Figured I might as well share this build here. I bought some $10 boxes from a local club member.

and some cheap lights from harbor freight.

then measured the whole

and cut it out

Test fit, had some clearance issues but was able to trim the inner fender back and they fit.

finish product, self tapping screws for now but plan on rivet it on.

at night

just ran a toggle switch to the dash and fused link to the battery.

hey guys once again im on asking for help!!! my problem this time is when i turn the key to the on position i have no power, when i turn the key to the accessory it has power. but when its in the acc. position and i hit the brake pedal i have no power again... and i tried changing the ignition switch, that was not the problem if you could help me thats awesome or even call cause im going to be out working on it the # is 845 806 7945 thanks so much

Bent Rocker

Well I bent my Jeep. I'm not that concerned since I was going to cover the rocker anyway, but now I really need to bend it back out so I have have a solid connection point for the aluminum diamond plate.

It was suggested to me to use one of those welders that allows you to put little metal rod that you can pull on. Well I've been trying to find one to rent but I'm not having much luck. Then I thought maybe I can get to the back of the bend section of the rocker by removing the transition in the door way.

I just need to pull it off and look, but I thought one of you may know, or have other ideas.
