Mine is an 86, and the black gauges are getting hard to see at night. Does the speedo go from 0 - 85 mph?

Thanks for the pic. I might have a problem with the temp gauge. However I have another instrument cluster from a Renix era XJ I think. When I get out to the shop today I will look. How much you thinking you want?

Figure me up a price shipped to 95938. I am looking to collect on some stuff I sold. So might not have it right away, but I am sure I want them subject to my having the later gauge.

Question, is there destructions on how to deal with the gauge pointers? Seems like they should need to be removed

$41.00 UPS ground. I used the UPS site caculater and it came up with 16.09. I find it hard to belive it costs 16 bucks to ship a box thats 10x6x1 that weighs less than a pound From Houston to Chico. I shipped the computer out of the TJ to Miami 2 day air for 29 bucks and the package was bigger and weighed more. I'm going to look at USPS.

Yes they need to be removed. From what I was told you pull them off and press them back on.

Thats a good write up on it.I was wrong you don't have to remove the needles. I will hold them for you.

So, how did yo do it?

I had to trim and bend the original faces (their metal) a little to clearance for the wiring. The just remove the two small screws holding the old faces on and slip the needle through the center hole on the new face so it sits on top of the stock face. Replace the screws and re-assemble. Of course out have to remove the cluster, the lense from the cluster, and each each individual gauge. Everything was easy, just tedious and slow.

Also i chose to drill two holes in the cluster for the wiring instead of removing the stock bulb sockets. That water i can use my stock lights to see the odometer at night if i want to and if not i can just use the stock dimmer to turn em off.

Got a question for you. Is it easy to see the gauges pointers at night. Is there a way to make them very visible. The reason I was contemplating this is that my black gauges are kind of hard to read at night now that I am an old fart.

I think I will pass on it. From what I have been able to find out, the needle is hard to see which would not do me any good for what I need.
