I had an occasion to have to repair my right headlight. It was barely on. I suspected a wiring issue, since it was on, but dim. That meant that my expensive IPF bulb was likely good. But it did mean I would need to pull the head lamp. Many are not aware of how to do this without having to readjust or re aim the lamp when done. It hard to tell from this pic in the daylight, but the lamp on the left is dimmer than the one on the right.

The first thing ot do is remove the bezel, or ring around the headlight. To do this remove the side marker light. It is held in by two screws. When it is loose, grab the yellow rubber light socket and give it a quarter turn counter clockwise and pull it loose. Next, remove the two screws on the inside of the bezel and it will come away.

Next, comes the part many people do not understand. There are six screws around the head lamp.

In this image, you will see a ring around the head lamp. There are two screws in the top and bottom. These screws are the ones to remove. There are two larger screws that are used to adjust the angle of the light beam. These should not be touched. If you try to remove these, you will have to readjust the light when done. Here is the ring and lamp when freed.

At this point, the lamp is just hanging by the wires. You can see the retaining ring clearly. Now you can unplug the lamp and replace it if need be. In my case, the ground wire had broken and once I reestablished the ground, it worked like new. Reverse this process to reassemble.

Good tech for noobs, it only takes a couple minutes.

By the way Steve, your grille is upside down.

I love seeing how things go together prior to me doing it for the first time. Gives me confidence. I'm the type person that can make it work, it just takes me longer the first time. :D
