I like the doorless look. I would like to do that to mine but with my kids i don't think thats a good idea

yea took me about 20 min for one door was gopnne do the other side today too but bolts didnt want to come loose

and the way i did it you can take them off and put them back on just like a wrangler

I have always had dooeless jeeps and never had any problems? I just think he should look into some TUBE DOORS*wink*wink*

not sure yet i still need to get front and rear tow points i think im go with just a class 3 hitch and a flat d ring back bumper
i wanting to go with a winch bumper for the front

True. I used to come out of trail rides with the left half of my body covered in mud cuz i was doorless in my wrangler. I started wearing safety glasses cuz tree branches would whack me when I least expected them to.

Not gonna do this with the xj. It was born with doors so doors stay on it.

I got my class 3 hitch from JCwhitney for $130 shipped. It came with a free 2" drop ball mount. Sweet deal. Just a FYI. ;)

yea it came from cali 4 years ago i think so its pretty much rust free it have a couple surface rust spot that im gonne clean up looks to be solid

ive done a few things since i last post. heres 6.5 inch lift short arm with 35s new custom front bumper and rock sliders

now it sits at 8-9 inch lift 35 inch xterrains a 8.25 29 spline from a 99 xj welded
3 linked long arm soon to have bilsteins in front.

well i traded my 6.5 springs to a guy who had the 8-9 inch springs i took both lifts off and installed them for a even trade.
i have rustys front coils and rustys 6.5 springs with extended shackles in the rear

been busy lately havnt had much time to work on it but got the front 44 seals changed and some bearings changed and got it painted gotta make new my new radius arms and it will be in
picked up some 10 inch wide rims for the 38.5 x 15.5 x 15 monster mudders
picked up a big bearing 31 spline ford 9 inch need to get seal and bearings in it and weld it and it will go it. willl be getting 5.13s down the road

well got the rear 9 inch in and all together gotta bleed brakes and get my drive shaft made. also got my heims today so just gotta make some measurements and order dom tubing for the steering

made my own driveshaft out of some tubing i had laying around got it moving again buygint dom tubing for my steering tonight gotta get a new trac bar bushing trashed it already should be ready to wheel within the next week

well did a little testing yesterday started off bending my stock f150 tie rod beyond usable so i went ahead and made my new steering with 3/4 heims and 1.5" DOM .250 wall tubing and went back on this little pile and broke a heim had to fix it where it sat got a hole in a tire and tore off the exhaust was a very productive day finding weak links

I couldn't remember the name of the ones on an island on Lake Michigan, so I googled and found about half a dozen areas listed with sand dunes.

I know quite a few folks like the Ford radius arms.. but I think a good 3-link works awesomely.. Glad to hear that you decided to stick with it, and build an awesome XJ!!

yea the radius arms just dont wanna flex with the new bushing its gotten a little better since i put em in but not what i had with the 3 link before
