I just got one done the other day and that was RE drop brackets. I am putting the braces on on friday. And putting airsoft BB's in the tires to balance them. Also gotta put a new pitman arm on on friday.

I have some 2" shackles i am gonna put in the back (to get rid of 2" blocks). I am going to do these when i get new Leaf spring bushings.

After all that i wanna get some new shocks for the front. Bilstein 5150's

And now muddeprived gave me another idea with his snorkel.

I also wanna cap off my rear bumper. And finish the front. Find a grille and put that in. And then buy two pilot lights for the front bumper and four for the roof.

And other little crap along the way.

What are your guys plans? :driving:

Only real plans this summer are to finally get the front bumper sandblasted, and repainted. I spent my "summer" budget on the BackBone and winch.:smiley-gen165:

I will need a new set of MT's this fall before winter get's here.

Add more hockey pucks. This is what I have so far:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/muddeprived/DSCF5194.jpg

I want to puck it as much as possible so I can disconnect and NOT rub but still get plenty of droop. I'll probably leave like 2" of space between them if I have to. Damn thing rubs all over the place. As for the rear, i have no idea. I'm gonna pop off the bumpstops and see what I can use to extend them down...say 4"? I have a 4" lift so I figured 4" down. I dunno...will have to flex and see.

gotcha i was thinking about pucks too. But wanted to look more into some poly ones that you just drop in your coil (more for the go fast stuff)

And the box i wanna box the frame in a lil bit were the stocker is(puts alot of stress on the frame when you exten them (of hit them hard alot) .

I almost went with longer poly bumpstops but from my experience on the tj, making the rubber portion longer will have them rubbing on the spring when flexing. That's why I went with the pucks cuz they don't interfere with the spring.

Good idea with strengthening. It's a wise decision for your style of wheeling. Those jumps don't do your jeep good unless it's built for it. A company makes some full length uniframe strenghening rails for our xj's and are welded in, or maybe even bolted in, i can't remember and I forget the name of the company. It'll suit your needs well.

How's your dana 30 setup? Any truss?

No truss yet i am just getting into all this. No big jumps yet lol.

Treks make unibody stiffeners

these are the front bumpstops i am going to get.
http://www.jegs.com/p/Prothane/Prothane-Coil-Spring-Inserts/762178/10002/-1
i will get the 10.5" so i can cut them down.
little thread on them. I will just set them in the coil not build a bucket for them (that is how they are designed to be used.

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=985677&highlight=prothane&page=2

Gonna do this with the back. Just energy suspension bushings from like autozone or something.

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=993471

only i will use some 1/2" plate so i know it wont bend. ;)

Nice links. You think I can still get away with just lowering the upper rear bumstop? I'm at 4.5" in the back.

yeah i am sure for the style wheeling you do you can. I have heard of people just putting steel spacers in between the frame and the bump it self.

And some people have thought you can soften up the stock bump by drilling holes in it, but you cant because it is steel on the inside. The stock bumps have no give. The poly ones like the ones listed above are progressive and have anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of give in them.

heres another good approach at the rear bumps

Ok this is going to sound like a newb question but i have never asked and never thought of it. Why would you want longer bump stops. I would think you wouldnt because it would limit the flex you can get out of the lift? Am i wrong if so please let me know lol i have about 10 hockey pucks laying around (i used to play ice hockey) and i will put them in.

Get the floors done on the MJ and do some lighting and cooling upgrades to the XJ. New clutch and such in the MJ.
Go to see Mickey in WDW at Orlando.

bumpstops (when done right) stop your shocks from bottoming out or extending all the way. Which both are very bad on them. Now i noticed you posted up in the jeepspeed section. If you plan on airing out the XJ or hitting some whoops you definitely dont wanna use hockey pucks. (too harsh) refer to my link on the first page for polyurethane progressive bumpstops.:)

even if you plan on hitting some whoops at a decent speed. Bottoming out shocks is a very bad thing

So far I've been trying to stay on top of RUST issues from last winter. One more spot to do under drivers rear cargo glass. Also have to install coil spacers on the frt., replace unit bearings (hubs), broken pass side u-joint ( will be replacing drivers too), replace broken/missing hardware on pass. side disco, still looking for a hood to replace current one, and start fabbing replacement rockers. I'm sure theres something else too.

Well I just got my Jeep back from the mechanics and still had to install the front driveshaft. Screw fell out from somewhere while installing it. (that was interesting) and now the dilemma is what to do next. (I am 6'3 and it is taller than me)
1. Cracked windshield - yes it is bad. I am thinking it will collapse.
2. Bushwackers - tires go way over esp in the front - cops will stop me at some point.
3. Radio - None in the hole - :-(
4. Tires - back ones are almost all gone - can't imagine what the rain is going to be like. (mind you I do have a WK)
5. No drivers door lock = just another hole. (but the door actually locks)

I would say windshield, and tires... Then if you think the cops will get you for the tires then the bush whackers, then Lock, and then radio!

WOw - I have those installed - you actually will enjoy the ride. I will have to look to see which shocks I have - mine are white. I am really surprised at how well it drives (especially straight) down the road.

Well, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so ...

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/2753/plans.jpg

Left to right:
*Police light - Get it working & mounted
*Red door edge molding.

... What? :p

*ACOS - scored them used & relatively cheap!
*Under the ACOS, a black tip for my muffler. Been sittng around a long time, & now I don't think there's room between the shackle & gas tank. If not, I'm selling it. But we'll see ...
*Pair of GM horns I picked up yesterday at the bone yard
*(under the horns) Transmission stop slip. Sometimes it shifts hard. Gotta siphon some fluid out first. I have no idea how.
*The biggie: shackle relocation brackets. Will raise the rear, hence the ACOS for the front

Not yet purchased: Adjustable upper control arms. I'm thinking JKS.

And those are my immediate plans. And I hope to have all that done by mid-September.
