Hi there. My name is Steve and I am addicted to my XJ.
She is a RHD '96 4.0 Auto and have owned her for the last 6 months and have so far done little to her in the modification area. At present I have done a home brew 3" spacer lift with spacers front and back. I to have made my own rock sliders and have removed the air accumulator and replaced the OEM air box with a barrel type air cleaner.
Future mods include a 6.5" RC lift kit. DIY drop brackets,DIY front and rear bumpers with spare tire carrier. I have also aquired 33" Hankook MT's and A-line Blitz alloys.

i have looked at a couple of designs and there are 1 or 2 that don't use the RC type bracket. the boom bracket is actually just a reinforcing for the upper CA. if you build it right and box it from the lower part you do not need the boom bracket. you can reinforce it to the bolt hole on top but do not need the boom shape.;)

Can you post a diagram because I am lost on where you are going to reinforce it from.
