Here are the rules to be awarded the November Give Away item, a DETOURSUSA KnuckleBone!

Ok people last month was pretty easy. All you had to do was post. Now we're going to see what your political power is. If you would like to get this KnuckleBone you need to recruit new members to the site, furthermore you need to get them to post.

The problem with referrals is that some people will just create several fake e-mail accounts and then register on the system multiple times. Another way would be to call up Aunt Betty and have her sign up. To help combat this and make the give away award more fair the people you get to sign up will have to post something relevant to the site. What is relevant? Well that will be up to the moderators and admins to decide. Certainly something about their XJ would be relevant. Keep in mind we do have other sections, like a Wrangler, Commanche, and Grand Cherokee sections!

We would prefer people that have XJs as the purpose of this give away is to get more members and more posts about things we are interested in. :D

So help out xjtalk and help out yourself at the same time!

Remember to instruct the people that you invite here to TYPE in your xjtalk member name, and they WILL need the correct spelling.

You will receive credit for new members that join and enter your username as the referrer between November 1st, 2011 (00:00 CT) and November 30th, 2011 (00:00 CT)

Scoring will be like this. Each referral will net you 2 points! Each post THEY make will add 3 additional points. The referral will NOT be valid unless they make a minimum of 2 relevant posts.

The member with the most points will be awarded the give away item!

Please note; referrals and posts can be removed, or modified by moderators/admins. Play fair and there shouldn't be any complaints. :D

Out? How? There are many ways to send people to xjtalk. The best way is to use our invitation system. All you need is their e-mail address. Hell I think it even automatically gives you the referral when they register on xjtalk via the link in the e-mail.

Yeah this is why it is important that when people register on xjtalk that you make sure they have the EXACT spelling of the name you use on xjtalk.

That is how you get credit for the referral, and besides we're only counting the referrals that occurred during this month.

I got my receiver last month from a pick a part... cost me 35 bucks
Got the inner frame nut strips, wiring harness and hitch and ball with 3 inch drop... I lucked out and the hitch i took off is class V too:D

Tony.. It can be hard. I have been recommending this site to people and obviously nobody has even signed up, or if they did they didn't use me as a referral. People may look but not join, some people may not even visit even though I linked to the forum.

I could get a lot of people to sign up and use me as a referral, make a couple small posts and then go away.. My wife, her brothers, my friends, co workers... etc, but to me that means nothing. I recommend the site to strangers who are asking questions about their XJs.

Can't hold their hand and walk them through the process.

Sorry guys I spent much of yesterday dealing with transmission companies, while working, then didn't get home until 10 pm last night and dropped dead in the bed.

After looking at the latest information I could see it would only take a few minutes to calculate the scores...

Two things I noticed. Some referrals that did post were NOT counted by the system because they were in areas where posts are not added to your counts. Specifically 4x4melissa, I remembered she had posted but it was only one post and it was in an area where posts do not increment.

Some of you, most of you, received 0 points because your referrals either didn't post (or didn't post in an area that counted) or your referral didn't make the minimum 2 posts.

Steve, 4.3LXJ is our winner pending any disputes.

Steve only had one referral but that one referral, 07Negative made 24 posts. So 3 points per post times 24 + 2 points for the referral = 74!


I'm sorry if the rules were a little to complicated. I get like that sometime, but to compensate the rules for this month's give away are really really simple. :D
