The flairs look like Smittybuilt to me but I could be wrong lots of flat fender flairs on the market today. Nice looking Jeep but I would have kept the cj personally. Guess I'm just a purist. lol lol

the sahara editions are all 4.0 in the tj flavor... however SOMETIMES you get lucky and score a d44 on the sahara TJ

Seems like I read that the Dana 44 that came stock on the TJ's wasn't any better than the Dana 35's.

Nice TJ, but I am like Payless... would have kept the CJ. I would like to get a nice clean very mild CJ as a daily driver.

Don't get me wrong I liked the CJ but it was now where close to being mild. Off road it was a beast on the street it was a hand full. With the TJ I have the best of both worlds a beast off road and drivable on the street.

Thanks for the info on the flares. I liked the CJ too. I think I would have straightened out the road problems, but that is just me. Either way, nice Jeeps.

It was drivable you just had to watch what you were doing. I guess because of the way it was lifted it wandered a little and road like a tank.

Nice TJ.

Yep, the Dana 44 that came in TJs as an option was not worth the cost. But it was better than the 35...barely. I ordered one in my new 99 TJ thinking the 44 would be an excellent upgrade. It lasted about a year before it was wasted. I replaced with an old school Dana 44. For 10 years, no problems. I have never owned a 35, but have been there when many an axle shaft snapped, both on road and off road. It is not a question of if, it is when that rear end will fail.

Ditto, one of my buddies was wheeling in one of our usual spots and all of a sudden one of his rear wheels was rolling down the rock face. After it got towed outta the woods and got it back to his house and started taking it apart both axles snapped and he blew the ring gears apart too. Now hes putting tons under it :)

That is a nice looking TJ you got there.. I liked the CJ too.. but I can fully understand your reasons for letting go fo the CJ for the TJ.. I like them both.. had thought about picking up a CJ if I could find one in decent shape for a decent price around me..
