As promised here is the announcement of our October prize give away. And more...

This month we re-visit a previous prize the DETOURS a-pillar light mounts!

We are including a pair of KC HiLites Daylighters, with wiring harness!

To win this prize you simply have to have the most posts in the month of October. Now remember the server, and it's time are in the Central time zone.
(To be clear it's the TOTAL amount of posts you make in the month of October! Not ALL the posts you've ever made!)

For your post to count you need to post between 12:01am October 1rst, and before 11:59pm on October 31st. The winner will be announced on the xjtalk show (Podcast).

Now that's not all! xjtalk will be having give aways in November and December! It's going to get a little more interesting around her folks, so check in often and post!

**As you can well imagine there will be some members that will want to pad their posts. It's only human nature. The moderators have been instructed to clean up, remove, etc... any posts that they believe isn't relevant. The moderators decisions are final! Posting is easy so please don't waste your time complaining about a post that was removed just think of 10 interesting posts to put in it's place. We all win when people post interesting and helpful things!

***xjtalk will pay for shipping in the U.S. 48 states. If you need your prize shipped outside the U.S. we can do that but you'll have to pay the difference in shipping. Sorry but we didn't want to exclude anyone from the give away but we do need to be realistic about costs. We hope you understand.

Any post that a moderator(s) accepts is fine. Moderators are part of the give away if they would like to be.

Posts are not counted in the new member intro forum. I know I set that when one person went back two years welcoming people to increase their rank. I'll verify that it doesn't count for the moderator auto welcomes.

I would say that any post that someone could have just hit the "Thanks" instead should be removed. Stuff like "Hey what a great idea! I'll have to try this!" "x2" I think we should only do this during the give away though. Of course we'll be having give away(s) for the next 3 months! :smiley-scared002:

You've been through a lot with your Jeep, just think of all the things you could have posted about. I think the mistake many people make is that they figure what they have to say isn't important, or that someone will think you're dumb because you didn't figure something out right away.

Look at me I didn't have a grease fitting in my front rear drive shaft for over 4 years and i only found out about a week ago!

Post up the things that you experience and I believe you'll find that the majority of the people with either identify with you or even better learn something!

Just so you guys know I get e-mail notifications when someone is trying to post a picture and cannot. I then send a standard PM to them and in most all cases it helps get the pictures up.

I noticed you are trying to upload a picture to the site. You've run out of space. We have a very limited amount of space for pictures. What you do is use a picture hosting service, like photobucket. Here is a link on how to post a picture.

I don't know if you guys have thought of this yet or not, but you are kind of dependent on one another. Sure you can ask questions and make posts, but it's going to work out a lot better if you have someone to "talk" to. Sadly there are a finite amount of active members on xjtalk.

It might be in your best interest, not only for this give away and the ones to follow, but long term for your life here on the site, to encourage other people to join. INSIDIOUS! :D

Hey before there is bitter disappointment, check the forums that you are posting to. For example welcoming new members in the new members intro will NOT add to your post count.

We had a member go through and WELCOME about a year back to present (at the time) members. That person will remain nameless, Scott, so we turned off post counts on that forum. If you welcome new members you only get the warm fuzzy of knowing you did something nice.

There are other forums where posts are not counted, like Jokes.

Hey guys, I was playing around in excel and started looking at the numbers. Here are two screen caps of the spread sheet. First off I took the top 10 data from every post that Muddyroy has made (roughly daily). Then I picked the names of people I talked to frequently or that appear in the top five often. If I didn't list you, no slight was intended. If you ask nicely, I may be willing to add you. :-P

There are some caveats because with only top 10 data, if you were out of the top 10 one day. I don't have anything for you. What I have done is used your previous day's numbers (if I had them). The one real issue is our valiant leader who usually is in the top 10, but doesn't always include himself. He's the one that really mucked with my numbers.

As I said in my previous post, for any entry that you were outside of the top 10, you got the previous number. Bluedragon entered the top 10 on the day he showed up. I also said that the date range was rough. The graph isn't supposed to be hard and fast.

Before the Summer we were hitting about 100k page impressions per month. That dropped to around 65k, then started to pick up. The last 30 days has been 100k again.

I'm unsure how much this is due to summer being over and how much it has to do with the additional attention, if any, because of the give away.

Frankly my main concern was to get more posts on the site for the long term, and not so much for short term increase in page impressions.

I may have mentioned it before but I think everyone has an interesting story to tell but many people aren't motivated to share it. A few give aways might help people take the chance and post.

The more posters, the more interesting the site becomes.

If I understand you correctly you are saying you feel you have posted more than what you have received credit for. I have mentioned a few times that some of the forums (or sections) do NOT count towards your post count total. Welcoming new members for example. We had one member welcome about 100 members late one night to get his rank changed. I think he went back 6 months in new member welcomes. We turned off post counts in that forum after that. Jokes are another forum that doesn't count. If you look at the description of each forum it will tell you if the posts count towards the total or not. If I misunderstood no problem, I don't think everyone understands this yet, so I've had another chance to explain it.

If I understand you correctly you are saying you feel you have posted more than what you have received credit for.
