I would like a write up on replacing the rear tranny seal on my O1 jeep. Please do a wrute up including pics and part numbers. The jeep is a 01 auto 2wd thanks.

I don't have the PN for the rear main seal, but any local auto parts store could look it up (I'm assuming that's where you'd purchase the seal from). I do have the PN for the 1-piece oil pan seal in the article though.

update: for an '01 XJ you'd need rear main seal #5018594AA. That's a Crown Automotive part number. I don't know if that would cross-reference at a local store or not. Cost is $9, and like I said in the write-up, I'd pick up two just in case.

Think she is looking for a write up on transmission output seal. I am working on the write up right now.

Doh! Guess I should've read the original post more carefully! :ashamed0006:

Assuming she's talking about the rear output seal on a 2WD AW4, that's WAY easier than the rear main seal on the 4.0L. :thumbsup:

Hey thanks for jumping on the post so quickly! I thought it was the rear main seal when I first read it too. It's the most common. :thumbsup:
