My XJ build as it goes on

So I recently got a stock XJ, just has a home made snorkel which will come off. I will be posting pics an little updates as I go. But before I explain or post any pics... I plan to have this build done within like 2 months lol Jeeptoberfest is fastly approaching an this mini monster needs to be rock ready by then an I need atleast a week or two for testin an tweaking. Wish me luck:pray:.. even thou some of you are proly sittin there reading this goin.. :out: ha Pics of the lift process an paint will be up within a week or two.

So I'm, having a problem uploading pictures an idk why? it keeps sayin the size exceeds forum size but the file size is only 80.7 which is under the max size?

Our server does not store the pics. So what you need to do is use a free image hosting service like Photobucket. Then you just paste the image code into your post and the image appears from their site in your post.

Custom fab, that is what takes me so much time. If I could afford bolt on, it would have been done ages ago.

Bolt on is so much more easier but honestly with some trial an error an the right resources you can honesty make things better an I like the one of a kinda look you get an the satisfaction of when some one askes where did you get that cause they want one an your like.. my garage an a mig welder haha

Agreed, that is what I have done throughout my build. Next up for me is installing my fan shroud I made for the Taurus fan and fab a true three link. Will start on that at the end of the month.

Very nice. I goin to fab up some long arms from DOM tubing, skid plates, an bumpers to start an as I go what ever my ever churning mind spits out on paper lol

You might want to check into Iron Man Andy on this site. He has good prices. Also, you might want to check Parts Mike. Just Google them. He has some killer stuff I am using and cannot really fab it cheaper.

I'll look into that. Btw couldn't help but notice you have a chevy motor in your jeep, I have another XJ, a 93 I want to drop a 350 in an make it a straight mud rig. Do you know if it will take any modifications to motor mounts or anything to put a 350 in?

OhJeepers.. for the pictures you can go to "User CP" at the top menu bar, then on the left side go to "pictures and albums". You should be able to create an album and store some of your pictures. Once you have the album you can enter the album and click on the picture you want to post, below the picture it will give you "Picture URL" and "BB Code". Copy and paste the BB Code into your message. I usually have two web browse windows open when I do this as it makes it much easier to copy and page from one into the message on the other.

Oh yes, lots of mods. You will have to decide if you are going to retain the Jeep tranny or not. If you don't, get the motor mounts, a big radiator and a 700R4 out of an S10 with the transfer case. That will be easiest. But still lots of stuff to make.

Novak adapters makes v8 motor mounts, GM v8 rad, and GM v8 headers for xj's. They also make adapter for all GM trannys to blot up the np231 case. Its all pretty expensive though except for the motor mounts.

Hey all, my deepest apologies for the span of time with no pics or any update of some sort. I have been swamped at work an trying to find my desired parts. But low an behold its finally in progress the parts where all ordered on Wednesday an will be here within 7-10 days an my canvas will begin to come to life :cheerleader: I now only have about a month to throw it together before the fast approaching jeeptober fest in Ocala, Florida. So far my list to do consist of: 8" lift compiled of rustys leaf an coil springs, custom fab long arms using rustys mounting system, a rear axle swap from a dana 35 to chrysler 8.25, a aussie front locker, a rough country front winch bumper and a winch, buying tires, an replacing some coolant hoses(not a big deal) but for a short dead line with only me an a fellow jeep enthusiast(wrangler lover lol) an while we both work full time jobs... this will be a build to remember. I for see late nights lots of taco bell an coffee. Pics will be posted as we build, which should start some time this week or weekend. Also I will be posting pics an video of my creation hard at work in Ocala. Hopfully with a new GoPro camera :D :pray:

Oh an parts list had to change a little, it now consist of sky jacker 8in coils, rough country 6in leafs so i have to shackle or block the back 2in, rough country long arm bracket, biggest darn heim joints ive ever seen an some thick as can be steel tubing, rough country drop pitman arm, rough country sway bar extender an links. Still gotta get some shocks an gettin some plain black steel rims wrapped in pitbull rockers for tires, going with either 35s or 37s. More pics soon!
