OK weve ALLLLLL heard what we SHOULDN'T do after we lift the XJ...xxx inches of lift like "gotta do the SYE over 4 inches" orrr "cant run 35's on stock gears and axles" orrr "gotta do a t-case drop over xxx inches" orrrr "gotta get longer control arms after 3 inches of lift"
All I can say is that I broke EVERY SINGLE ONE of those rules on my jeep and I havent really had any issues...
currently the no no's im doing is 36'' tires on 3.55 gears on dana 30/35 axles... and I wheeled it pretty good last weekend
I have NO SYE
no t-case drop
using a front locker
thus far REAlly the only issue im having but I had it while I was running 33's is my front unit bearings go out about every year

So what are you guys doing that "we ought not"?

My no-no's for my XJ are:
Lifted over 7" with:

TC Drop only/ no SYE
33's on 3.55's D30/Ch8.25
7+" of lift with stock UCA & 4.5" Rusty's short LCA

All my no-no's are ok though.. because it's GREEN!!! :spongebob: :ass:

started enjoying driving the "brick" when I finally acknowledged the fast that it is gong to "work anyway", and that "noises and scents are somewhat normal"

so far not too many no-no's but I am seriously thinking of using a 1" lift block to level the rear....

I have no trac bars or sway bars.

On my first xj i had all the no no's. 3.5" leafs with 1.5" shackle and 2" block. then in the front I had 4.5" springs and 2" spacers on factory uppers and fixed lowers. no swaybars, 36" tires on a d30, stock steering, no sye or t-case drop. It daily drove and weekend wheeled just fine.
