I did Rough Country Drop brackets about a month and a half ago. I took me about 2.5 hours with a half inch battery impact. It was a bit of a pain but not too bad.

Sorry I don't understand. Most (if not all) of us look at the pictures while surrounded by that wonderful cold dry air, process by A/C. We don't care if the camera takes pictures in 90, or 9 degree weather. :smiley-laughing021:

Well it took me about 5 hours. Did one side at a time and it worked out pretty well. I can also move the jeep really easily with the hilo though. Did passenger side first and then driver. Well i didnt put the two little (replacement for the caster adjuster bolts in the stock pockets at first so the passenger side would line up and was tilted so i had to go back and tear it out. And ended up having to bend the little lip that the drop for the new UCA mount hits. And grind down the stock weld. Driver side was fine though.

I havent got my supports on yet. I have a popping noise that happens. once and a while. I think it is just stuff settling to were it should be though since my front suspension has been off for quite some time now. But my coil bow on the passenger side is all fixed now and it sits level. :D

took it for a test drive and it rode wayyyy bettter. Now it is just time for mudderoy to but me some adjustable LCA's :smiley-laughing021::thumbsup:

Hey thanks for the link. I never saw upper arms so cheap but i'm wondering are they good quality? I need upper adjustable arms to get my wheelbase set cuz it's about an inch or two too far forward. I can adjust it with the lowers but that messes up my caster and pinion.

Know anyone who uses these arms that I could ask for feedback?

Yeah it's very cheap but I don't want this to be a "get what you pay for" type of deal ya know. I would buy right now but I rather wait and do a little research first. I'm not too crazy for poly bushings on a fixed arm cuz it'll add stress since there's no flex point in the arm like my lower RC arms. I'm gonna see what I can find out.

I'm just going to get the RC adjustable uppers when I can afford them. I'll replace the RC non-adjustables lowers later.

I see only TJ listed for RC's upper flex arms. I think they are the same for the xj but i'll have to look into it first.

i also talked to the guy on ebay. He sold one hell of a jeep that he built to start his business.

found out what the clunking was. The passenger side lower control arm body side bolt was loose. It would slide backward with a hard brake in drive and forward with a hard brake in reverse.

No not yet. I got that list of crap (in other thread, summer plans) to take care of on the jeep before aug 22 and i know it's gonna cost me $$ one way or the other so I'm putting the arms on hold for now. I got BigBad's tube doors on the list so i'm thinking of getting those before the arms. The list never ends..ya know how that is...:)

I agree. It lets your suspension work the way it should instead of against it. It's a MWS mod (money well spent). ;)

I know a guy has some RE's for $100, but they are really rusted and need a total refinish. So I do not know if I should do it?

Doesn't seem like a bad deal. Paints cheap.

For 100 bucks, that's a steal. RE's are around $360 new. Just sand em down a little, and coat them with cheap paint. You will not regret that $100 deducted in your checkbook.

It's been a while but I've spoken to Andy from Iron Man. I asked him if he could make upper arms 1" shorter than stock and adjustable up to whatever and this is the response I got:

Every sale is a custom order. I do this so that you get what you need
instead of what some big company wants to sell you. All of my control
arm prices include custom lengths. let me know what you need. my
uppers come adjustable from 15-19 but I can make em 14-18 or whatever
you need.
just buy a set and email me saying you need them an inch short or so,
give me a week and well get em out to you
Andy

$130 shipped is tempting.

I might just go with these arms or RC's flex arms. I spoke with grimus99xj who works for RC and he said the flex arms are not listed for xj but we can order the tj's uppers cuz they are the same. $175 shipped to my door is what I was quoted.

Hmm decisions.

I ended up ordering Iron Man's arms. I asked him if he could get them to me before the 26th so I could run em at the bds outback adventure and he said he'd rush em for me. Cool guy to deal with.

Let's see what he sends me.
