i am trying to put a lift on my 93 zj 5.2 4x4 and i am having some trouble. this damn thing is pissing me off.it has a lug nut rounded off and i cannot get it off.i cannot get a weld on it strong enough to hold to break it loose either.i have beat all sizes of sockets on it and they just spin off.i don't know what to do now.

There are some sockets sold at sears for this purpose. They have a spiral cut on the inside and are supposed to work on rounded nuts.

got it fixed.took it to a repair shop and they torched it off and did not hurt the rim at all...and only charge me $20

That works and less labor intensive than the nut cutter I suggested on the other forum.

I'm surprised it didn't damage the wheel, but I'm a noob about cutting stuff with a torch.

it got some black marks but otherwise looks good.i will clean up the wheels and put them up for sale....won't need them here real soon.the lift is being installed now.

future reference you can get a socket two sizes smaller... USE an IMPACT socket and then hammer the heck out of it onto the rounded lugnut and then back it out by hand NOT with a impact gun
