What do you think about adding a Northwest region for Oregon, Washington, and Idaho? Do you think there are enough of us? Would be cool to see I think.

I think it is a great idea. We need more areas as the site grows.

My wife probably knows the family then if they have been there awhile. She left town about 20 years ago, but she still has property there. Lots of good wheeling there if you like extreme mud.

20 years ago is about how long it's been since the store's been gone... They owned it for probably 25 years. Grandpa passed away in 91, and she got tired of running a store, gas station, and feed store by herself so she sold it and moved to Clackamas in 92 or 93 I think. Whoever bought it leveled the whole thing and built a new feed store and parking lot. But yeah there's awesome wheelin all up and down the coast range, not for the feint of heart though lol.

That is how I cut my teeth in the wheeling world. Challenging yes, but for the well prepared rig, lots of fun.

Shotgun OHV? It's ok, not as big as Brown's Camp, but you can have some fun there.

Portland is a nice City. Always voted one of the cleanest cities in the country. All the rain washes the crud away. Well laid out in spite of the terrain. Addresses are easy to find. Drivers aren't very nice though. You need to be aggressive at times. Vehicle registration is low, taxes are high and no sales tax. Several places you can find work at universities, though only one in Portland. Two major rivers there. The Columbia, and Willamette. If you try to pronounce that last one in French, it is wrong. It is an Indian name, as many are in the state. Fair amount of public transportation. And it is always very green there. If you move there, we will be sure to visit on our way to Astoria.

So she is taking the job?

There are some members from the Portland area on xjtalk but they stick to CF & JF for the most part. I live about an hour south of Portland.

She is motivated to take it yeah.... she just got the written offer (66% salary increase from now) and she seem decided to do it... and quite honestly, she would be stupid not to sign that letter.... Union Job in a bigger city with a huge room for career growth...)

I am excited but we have not talk to the kids yet and I am waiting to see how it goes... (Boston episode was a bit of a heartache for those that are remembering lol)

I'm in Salem, always looking to meet new people that like to wheel, got a few groups here in the Willamette Valley and a few in the Portland area as well... Octane Outlaws Association (http://www.wingnutooa.proboards.com/) is having a sand run down to Spinreel Dunes (http://www.wingnutooa.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=495) here in about a month, you all are welcome to join!

Maybe if this thread gets enough traffic then Tony will consider it... I know for a fact that there are tons of us here in the Willamette Valley area alone, fairly certain that Salem Jeepers is the biggest Jeep club in Oregon. They just had their yearly Jeep Jam a couple weekends ago. They had a ton of vendors and prizes, an RTI ramp, even a 4x4 obstacle course. Looked pretty cool, but I couldn't go because I had to work. I know there are a couple Jeep clubs up in the Portland and Seattle areas too, and of course there's the PNW4WDA.

I'm all for anything that people like (and is legal) on the site. :D

My only concern is creating a forum that no one uses. Just something else for everyone to have to look past while looking for active posts. That's why I came up with the 3 requestor things. We all know how quickly two people can run out of things to say to each other! ;)

They have a website, but they're pretty picky about who they let come to their meetings or onto their forums. Most of my Jeep friends including myself don't associate with them. I'd start out on their Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/groups/143138385720497/

I honestly don't think it will go unused, as opposed to a few other subforums here that I probably don't need to point out. Of course there's the possibility that I could be wrong, it's been known to happen once in a blue moon. ;)
