First question would be, what power supply do you have?
110,220 , single or triple phase?

I run a Miller at home, this one:

But have access to this:

If I have to TIG, which I am learning, I have access to this, which is what I plan to buy as it will "do" almost everything:

Yes I am partial to Millers.

that auto-set 140 is bitchin'! i have a buddy that has one with an aluminum spool gun and that thing throws down sweet beads on aluminum, looks like super precision pulse... way clean!!!
it will do whatever you need in your garage, i think it it 3/8'' max, but really what are you going to do on your jeep that need 3/4'' thick capabilities???, also i have seen these new in store for 600 out the door

> Miller, Lincoln, Hobart.
> 220V

Stay away from the cheap harbor freight units, or anything like them. Try and get repair parts or have a question about them. Buy from the big three. They are all good, and stand behind their products.

110V sound nice. But you will end up getting something else for real welding.

I have a 110V mig and a 220V stick welder, both Lincoln. Why two? See the above. Got the mig from Lincoln, it was a factory return. Got the ARC welder second hand. Any case shop around, you will get real good deals if you take your time and shop around.
