I did this to my stratus this weekend and figured someone else could find this useful.

I don't know the proper steps but this is how i did it. if you know how to do it right or better let us know

I started with a piece of 1000 grit sandpaper and a can of clear coat.

I forgot to get a pic of the clear coat.

I started sanding (w/water)down til te surface felt smooth.

This is after sanding.

after that i taped up pieces of newspaper for the overspray and began lightly spraying til I got an even coat.
this is the end result.

If you start with 1000 and work your way up to 2500 (1000, 1500, 2000) all you will have to do is give them a coat of wax. I had to do that with my Expy. a week or so ago. I haven't heard the CC idea. How long does it stay on??

I've done this to my wife's Mustang. They went back to yellow pretty quick. I was thinking the clear coat might keep that from happening as fast. Do you think the wax would be a better protector?

Wax seems like it would get hot and just run off. The clearcoat may bake on with the added heat. I think I have read that progressively finer sandpaper grit and a polish with a polishing wheel is what the restorers use. Again don't know how long before it is yellow again.

My old Caravan would do the same thing. I did the sandpaper thing about every 18 months. We'll just have to track Dirt Dog's progress with the CC. Let us know!!! Ladies and Gentlemen we have a science experiment!
