This was the 4th annual Take Your Top Off to Galveston Tx. put on by the Houston Jeep People. They estimated there was 150 to 175 Jeeps there. I was one of 2 XJ's.

Walking up and doun the rows of Jeeps was like looking at a 4X4 part catalog. I would guess there was over 1 million dollars worth of Jeeps there.

We were in front of the seawall at the convention center, a lot of TJ's and JK's went by. I would have liked to have gone down there, but the son's graduation ceremony and commissioning were more important.

So what did ya'll do beside this picture? When I saw this I was thinking "I wish I could have seen that" then I thought would I have driven 90 miles just to see a bunch of Jeep in one spot?

A bunch of us went and had lunch and a few cold ones on the seawall then went to west end of the island. As you can see from Scott's pics we did not want to mess with the line at the ferry. I guess Big Jim and Rene did not make it they were going to go to the beach but not the seawall.

Mark, you should take a trip to Oregon with me. You can drive on the beach for 12 mi and all the dunes you can climb. You can say hi to your daughter too.

We went to the dunes when we were up there last , the ones above Coos Bay but I never saw no beach it was more inland. There is a place I can actually drive by the water and all up there ?? That would be way cool !!!

Yes, go north across the river, turn left on to the Jetty road. Turn right on the road to the campground. You can go through the camp ground to a sand road that will take you there, or you can go past the camp ground to the end and get on the sand and drive over the fore dune and you will be on the beach
