This is my toy. This is why my wallet is empty. This is what I think about almost everyday. This is my addictive drug. I cry when I'm in a different car. THIS is why I call it "the addiction". The jeep doesn't have a name but sometimes i find myself calling it...."the addiction" too.

One of the symptoms of "the addiction" : Budget boost

Side effects of "the addiction": uncontrollable urge to stuff the fenders full.

"The addiction" symptoms showing it's ugly head again: more lift

Possible cure for "the addiction" found which result in downsized "stock" tires. Cure eventually fails.

Cure considered "ineffective". Tire size enlarged:

"The addiction" worsening:

Everyone has to have something to make the grandiose monotony of day to day life seem as if it matters. WE all do like good little ants and work, get married ,have kids, and take care of our family and then there is the as you so harshly but accurately described it as the "addiction". Some use alcohol and drugs to distance themselves from their life and thoughts. Some do things that are just completely uncharacteristic of them in secret to feel "different". But most healthy minded people do things that are constructive with their spare time to get away from the grind. I think that building cars or anything for that matter is one of many great ways to make yourself feel like what your life is worth something. Some people (like me) need more than one thing to make themselves feel happier about life but, as I always tell me wife "at least I'm not out at bars doing crack and sleeping with dirty $1 hookers".

Great pics of a nice looking truck mudd. Hopefully I'll get over the fear of modding my as yet stock ZJ, 'cause I'd like to take it off road but am afraid it'll leave me hoofing it back when I get stuck.http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss68/DLHTURBO/beerchug.gif

How many senseless bovine deaths can be attributed to drunken ranch owners out having a good time!

What have you got planned next for your jeep muddeprived???

What have you got planned next for your jeep muddeprived???

im looking to complete the skid project by adding a gas tank skid and some rocker protection. Then i might add some 1" wheel spacers cuz the narrow track is kinda bumpy on and off road. i need more stability. After that, and if my bank still likes me, then im gonna upgrade springs and get trek's long arm upgrade. my springs aren't taking the weight of the skids and winch too well. i lost almost an inch so far. with jeeps, losing inches is like losing hair. it sucks!

You mean the weight of your jeep is causing you to lose lift inches?? That can happen??

Yes ma'am. The more accessories you add, the more weight is put on the springs and the lower you go. If you look at RE lift kits, they usually net about 1" more than advertise so you still achieve the advertised amount of lift with your heavy bumpers, skids, etc. I have rusty's front 3" HD springs (winch springs) and OME HD rear springs with their AAL. At first it held it's height until I went off road and flexed out the springs (worked them in) and then I noticed it getting lower cuz the tires seem to get bigger ( i wish). Although it's just a minor loss of height, it makes a big difference on our xj's cuz our fenders are only SO BIG:headshake:.

Nice looking xj muddeprived, I know the addiction thing all too well, through the 70's and 80's it was drugs and alcohol, then thank God giving that up, it then turned into the addiction to ham radio which led to a much stronger vies, ( 1996 jeep Cherokee xj ) ,Now with the two combined I know I'm lost.........Bob.....

Well....it's happening again. Out came my wallet and here's what's on it's way to my place NOW:

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e73/muddeprived/cherokee/skids/17637-lg.jpg

This completed my skid plate project.

Front skid: done
Oil pan skid: done
T-case skid: done
Gas tank skid: done
rockers: gonna be done

Now I need rockers. :boohoo:

Well I'll be dipped, learn new things everyday, thanks :)

I was wondering why when I was looking at 3" lifts they would state that when installed your xj would sit about 4" higher, now I know :cheerleader:
