Ok, It started off in the thread I posted about rims and tire sizes. I noticed there are a few of us that have a thing or had a thing for VWs. I will start. It started off with my 97 Jetta all together I had about 7 grand in it. Before my roommate wrecked it.

Next came several Mk2 Jettas a 91, 87, and finally an 89. The 89 was a diesel. That is actually the one I drove to CO. I loved them all but for one reason or another they all had to go. I would love to get another.

LOL, I do like me some older VWs! I owned a mk1 years ago that I used to love to drive around in. Nice paint, fresh interior, custom grill, plenty of work done to the suspension... I used to take that thing out to the Park Way and just drive all day... on a 1/4 tank of gas....LOL! I loved that car, just have no pics of it... Like a dummy, they went with the new owner that got it... Now it looks nothing like it used to... its sad...

I used to own a 05 GTI lowered chipped and FAST!

And then got a 00 GOLF TDI, cheap to run and fast for what it was. Sold it to help start my business, it was in near perfect condition for 10 yrs old and got over blue book for it.

As soon as I make some money I will get another VW or Audi TDI, nothing beats driving fast and getting 600 miles a tank.

Always had a thing for VW's too. My first car was a '74 Bus with a seized 2000cc in it, but I didn't have the money to rebuild it (needed pistons, sleeves, heads, crank, basically everything but the crankcase lol) so I ended up trading it for a pickup. Always dug MK2's too. My buddy just got rid of his. VR6 with a stage 4 running 21lbs of boost, about 575hp, ran 9's at the strip. Couldn't keep tires on the damn thing, but it walked all over everything it raced, even a turbo Carrera. Pissed me off when he got rid of it too because I wanted it lol.

He just traded it for a TJ with a 4" Procomp lift on 33" Maxxix Bighorns with an ARB front bumper, 9500lb warn, smittybilt rear bumper, triple tube rock rails, soft AND hard top, a crane for the hardtop, and $600. I think it was a fair trade lol.
