Just figured I'd share some pics of the last time a friend and I went camping. It was in the fall and just starting to get a little cool out but a good time was had anyway!

We camped at Shoe Creek. A trail in Va. that the local guys and I run quite often. Great place to wheel and camp. If interested there is a trip coming up late March in the Va. regional thread. Its going to be a camping/ wheeling trip.

I apologize now if the pics are huge. I pasted them from a friends account.

Looks like a blast!! Me and a few buddys did this in august, we hiked in though and only stayed one night cause our just in case was used to run off a black bear! Oh the joys of hiking in LOL

Yeah, the just in case stuff is always near! Bear are all over up that way. Not to mention all kimds of other critters I'd rather not tangle with. ;)

Did you guys camp/ hike at Shoe creek?

No but I am planning on making up that was in march. We camped at lake Fontana in The western most part of North Carolina. We were plannin on fishing all weekend. We had to get a forest service Back Country camping permit and they told us we werent allowed to have firearms LMAO! Yeah right!!! Glad we did too. I wish I had pics but nobody thought to bring the camera

LOL! Yeah, you're not supposed to have a firearm in the GWNF here (which includes ShoeCreek) but I and my friend both had a ccp sooo we went prepared.

Hope you can make it up in March! There are quite a few coming up from the Triad area of NC. They are planning on camping with us! :thumbsup:

Yes, hunting down the cause of death wobble does in fact suck. I've got a friend with a lifted WJ going through it now. Hope to see ya out!

Just in case ?? are ya gonna get attacked by a herd of rabid moose ?? I'm mean we carry here when we camp in case of lions and bears but thats a little overkill. Don't get me wrong all nice toys but seriously...... Totally beautiful area though !!!!!

+1!! I wish I lived near by land like this too... if I did I would love to camp more often... instead I have to drive for 2+hrs. to get anywhere near anything close to that... and even then nothing that beautiful!!

Actually yes, Just in case. One of the pistols is mine. I have t on me EVERY WHERE I go. The other is the friends that I go camping with. Being that we are both ccw permit holders we, by law are able to carry in the National Forrest. the shotgun is for things that would only be pissed off by a .45 or 9mm round. The black pocket knife is mine and is also always with me. The silver knife is the friends. Overkill? . . . Nahhhh..... It could have easily been more there.

Thanks! That area is one of my favorite spots around me to camp, year round. It's nice any time of the year.

Man, I kinda feel bad reading that. Makes me appreciate it even more. Hopefully I'll have more pics after the weather breaks and it starts to get warmer.
