Who doesn't? I dunno what to get. I would like something cheap but still strong enough to take a beating. The factory skid would work but i can't seem to find any. Tomken makes a cheap skid for around $180 and that's first on my list but looking for something cheaper. Anyone know of anything?

Hey Spanky, can you make me one??? :D

I have the front skid, oil pan skid, transfer case skid and i wish i could say gas tank skid but i'm working on it now.

$180 seems a pretty good price for a gas skid. I'd go for it!

I personally have a Skid Row skid on my gas tank. It ain't cheap (at $300+) but it's very very solid!!

I wish I could get that one. I'm allowed to spend my work bonus ($200) on the skid so that's pretty much my budget.

I found a factory one on CL. They are around you have to keep looking. It took me a year to find one. Only paid $50 for it but the shipping cost another $40 so $90 total.

The tomken one is thinner metal. I have the DPG Skid plate, i think called rock attack or something. He is a great guy to deal with and it was shipped quickly, it even came with the nutstrip that you need, if you dont have a factory gas tank skid or a tow hitch. Its made of 3/16ths steel=strong!

I checked that out both a while ago, actually I checked out almost all the skids available for our rigs and I decided on Tomkin cuz of the price. I know the others are 3/16" but I feel 1/8" is good enough for what I need. If I had $300 I'd go with the thicker ones but for the price of the tomkin, it will do. They say it's indestructible so I'll hold them up to that and if it's not, I'll just get on the phone with them and work something out.

thanks for that info ;)

You'll probably hate me, but I just picked up all three factory skids (front, t-case, and gas tank) off of an '89 that was being parted for $30.
They are out there.
