Now the carnage report:
The white jeep broke a front axle
The green jeep colapsed both front leaf springs trying to winch the white jeep out of a creek after the axle broke
And I put a small dent in the drivers door after sliding into a tree :sad0147:

Yea these XJ's are tuff little boogers. It's a fun place to wheel I've been there several times with Rene, Big Jim, Matt and Tony. We went on several trails I've never been on before. As far as the dent goes I should be able to take the iner door panel off and pop it out.

I learned something from those guy's about airing down the tires. Some of the things I could not do aired up I did pretty easy running about 10 psi.

Rule of thumb, always air down when wheeling. Your traction will increase by several times, and the little bumps will be smoothed out.

You guys keep telling me that I need to get over to creekside but these video's are pretty intimidating to watch. If I brought my jeep out I would want to tread lightly as I cant afford to tear it up due to the fact that I use it at the deer lease.

Hey I bought mine NEW and it's my daily driver, I know what you mean. I wanted to go off road because I know from past experience it's fun as hell (I've only heard never been there) and what these guys do is pretty mild. I've only had problems crossing the creek, and that was just getting up the other side. I used my winch to get out of it. If it wasn't for a tree stump I would never have had any damage, and that was from me being stubborn and trying to get up that embankment.

Been there done that....that is one mean hill. Anyone who has tangled with that is lucky to be in one piece. (For those who don't know what helicopter hill is, if you mess up you usually leave on a stretcher in a helicopter.)

My daughter made it up that hill when she was 9 on her Honda XR, I think she was so scared of crashing down backwards she willed herself over the top.

Thanks to who ever fixed my post to see it with out going over to youtube. I'm thinking about going back there Sat. the 15th. Hay Rene remember the blue Bronco that messed up his hub going to Creekside from the truck stop? He should have all of it fixed by then and will go along with the red CJ that was with us. If it's warm I'll bring my CJ ( no door windows) kind of cold on the freeway.

No I'd bring the jeep but it's at the deer lease. I'm not going to bring it home for a few more weeks.

Firemanray, are you in splendora? Was just wondering if you may have worked that wreck tonight were the 1 yr old was pulled from the burning truck. Apparently the guy hit a wild pig and then hit a tree breaking his leg. Everyone is ok and the said that the driver plans to mount the pigs head.

No, I'm up at Lake Livingston. I'm on a local volunteer dept. going on 10 yrs. now. I saw the story about the baby on the news. Good thing there were some quick thinking people around.
