This is my MJ. I got it from a guy about a year ago who had used it as a farm truck until one day it wouldn't start. I put a CPS in it and it fired right up.

I dig it! Gives me some ideas for my current project. What kind of lift parts are in it? SOA?

It HAD a 2" BB with spacers and shackles. I have some 3" RE coils and a long AAL from the J-yard.

Yeah that's nice. Amazing what a paint job will do.

Thanks, it's amazing what a RATTLECAN paint job can do.

GREAT choice of color.

Rustoleum "Metallic Racing Green". The interior color didn't go well with any other color that I liked IMHO.

cheers for pics

Looks good.... I like that new color... Did you do the bed professionally or just some Herculiner?? I wish I could find a deal like that on a MJ!!

It's just a roll-on job Herculiner. I think it turned out pretty good, although after looking at it from every conceivable angle the are a few holidays (where it didn't get 100% covered. My fault. I'm going to buy a small can of it to touch up the missed areas.

Nice.. Once I get my lift taken care of, I'm gonna pull the carpet and do all the prep and then herculine the interior of my XJ...

How good does the paint look up close. I have a Comanche that needs some paint, and I was considering a pro job but damn your looks really nice!

This is the closest pic I have. Generally it looks pretty good. I sent alot of time sanding, filling little dings and holes, sanding. I used sanadable primer and removed all the tape/decal (which I will NOT be putting back on).

The one thing I screwed up was the hood. After I prepped it, primed it and painted it it looked good. Then I clear coated it and it looked great, so I went into the house. When I came back out it was sitting in the sun and most of the clear coat had wrinkled up and dried that way. So, when the wether warms up I'll be re-doing the hood.

Other than that, it's what I call a 20 foot paint job (looks great from 20 feet away). Got a good gloss on it and it's been sitting outside all winter. In the spring I'll re-assess the finish. I may be able to wax it, or whatever. But it's a $200 paint job on my $400 truck, so I'm happy.

Not bad for a driveway job. I am in serious need of paint too.

What the best way to remove/install the badges? or did you just tape them off and paint over them?

When I got it just the badges from the tailgate and the front "Jeep" were on it. Some of the other badging had already been removed, and saved, by the PO. I picked up all the other badging from the junkyard. Some I could pry off with my fingers, some I needed a flat blade and the real hard ones I used a piece of wire to slide the thing off.

Apparently they're held on with the factory double sided tape but I just used adhesive black RTV, and held it on the body with some masking tape until the RTV set.
