well I guess its a little too late to do a build thread for my XJ but last weekend I acquired a pretty nice car hauler trailer for 300 bucks Thanks to "jeetyet"
well it was in rough shape when I got it but like always I like to make things that are allowed to look pretty... pretty.
I got to work this morning on the trailer and broke out the ole wire wheel and went to town cleaning off surface rust all over the trailer...
here is the LITTLE progress I made today
here is a view from the back

Side view... I might be replacing the fenders it depends on how much the cost at tractor supply
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/IMG_6027.jpg
here is the front of the trailer... I think Im going to remove that... seatbelt looking thing and add a small BBQ pit to that pedestal
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/IMG_6030.jpg
my paint scheme will be black and white... white frame work and fenders and the portion where I drive the jeep onto will be black
as you can see I had to do a LOT of prep work
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/IMG_6028.jpg
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/IMG_6029.jpg
here is a portion of it cleaned and repainted what is going to be black except for the ramp area
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/IMG_6031.jpg...
I will keep you posted on this as I have progress
Thanks

Looks like a good deal. There is the big conroe swap meet at the end of this month, and there is always a guy there selling trailer fenders pretty cheap.

So I scored a few freebies over the weekend and was able to get trailer lights and a new set of tires on the trailer well not NEW but in WAY better condition than the previous ones these are not dry rotted or cracked... anyhow so I also installed air shocks on the durango on monday and I aired those up as well...it sags a LITTLE bit but I still only had the bags at 100 and they are rated for 150 so Im ok with that!!! heres the rig and tow rig loaded up

ok so I said Id do it and I built a little grill
I found a propane tank that was out of inspection and had a leak... got it free from AOC.

So today I took the time and bought some paint stripper... I got the cheapest at home depot... and come to find out its the FASTEST and has NO foul smell.... AWESOME... anyhow I was able to remove all the white paint completely down to bare metal and I mounted it to the stand on the front of my trailer
http://i372.photobucket.com/albums/oo167/seivey/Trailer%20Project/2010-11-08165901.jpg

I shot it with Engine enamel that holds up to 500 degrees
it came out shiny but oh well I guess the trailer is gonna be shiny too

Ended up using what was left of the can to shoot the whole tongue

I just noticed how bad the white paint ran when I used the paint stripper... I gotta wire wheel the inside and shoot it as well but overall Im pretty happy with my camping grill

Better build a fire in it to get rid of the paint smell. Wouldn't want to ruin steaks that way.

Thanks guys , well today I landed a freebie and scored a wheel and tire BRAND new from a mobile home hauler guy , Anyhow I also noticed last night when I dragged my busted *** durango to my new house that I broke the shackles so I bought a new set today and installed them so back to opertaing normal and ON to the widening, originally i opted for unistrut but with getting the new welder I went back to my original plan which is angle iron which for the same weight is stronger and will last longer!
