A quick Google search tells me this question isn't uncommon, but I didn't see any responses other than use a tape measure or buy a bumper unibody tie-in kit. I'll keep looking.

Well, I wouldn't even know how to bolt it onto my truck correctly.

Really the only drawings I have seen on here, are for a simple slimline rear bumper, drawn to scale, with material list.

This is a question posted on many forums. And the answer is that there are none. Those who do it for a living are not letting them out and the rest of us do it by the seat of the pants, or start cutting cardboard to fit together and when it all fits right we take it apart and cut and weld those pieces.

I have the blue prints here for the unibody bumper mount . Use it and build off from there.

.... OR you can just ask me how I did mine... I can hang mine in a tree and confidently work under... so long as the tree holds.... I made mine from scrap, only cost me total about 75 bucks but the functioning portion of it was less than 30 including bolts nuts and washers

So can I, but I never would . Thats just dangerous.

Mine was a free aluminum vegetable conveyor in its early life. About $50 for front and rear bumpers.

"Unibody bumper mount"?

Looking at building a pre runner style myself. Its the body mount and the "frame" for the winch mount that have me a little concerned.

It is really not hard to make a template for the frame mount. First remove the bumper and steering box bolts. Get some good scissors and some cardboard from a good sized box. Cut out the cardboard so it follows the edges of the frame all the way back past the holes that go all the way through the frame. Those are important because the factory designed these holes to anchor the factory tow hooks. Clamp or tape the cardboard to the frame and allow enough sticking out to weld the rest of the bumper to. Take the smallest ball peen hammer you can find, I have an itty bitty one you would laugh at for this, and use the rounded end to tap on the bolt holes with. Eventually you will cut the cardboard along the edges of the holes. When done with both sides you will have a perfect template. Cut and drill holes in the right places in the metal and you have your mounts.

Well I found a template on Great Lakes XJ, for the bracket. Figure if push comes to shove I can extend it to give me what I am looking for. What would you use for the winch mount?

Looks like my old job might come in handy....plasma table. Time to draw up and convert some documents to work, have everything cut on the table.
