So this is not mine, and I am in no way related to the seller. just thought this was a good deal, for some one looking to do a disc brake conversion.

This is listed on my local off road site... The seller says it will will work with, Dana 44 Dana 30 or 8.25. It needs new E brake shoes. I bet he would be willing to ship. like I said just thought people should know about it since it is a good deal....

This is on my list of things to do! I've read that the proportional valve change is optional.

I wonder why he had to take the axle shafts out?

You have to take the axle shafts out to be able to bolt on the backing plates from the ZJ, as well as taking all the old drum brake parts off... I think when I get home I am just going to try and source either a ZJ or KJ rear axle... so that way I know I have all necessary parts... If I can find either in the JY I will grab the proportional valve as well..

Taking the axles out of a C8.25 is no big deal. Just a little time and rear end fluid.

Oh I don't have an issue with it... just gives me a reason to go ahead and upgrade my cover, maybe even a lunchbox locker... and take care of that rear end seal leak I've had for about the last year... was just replying to the question asked earlier on why he removed his axles..

Doesnt the teraflex disc conversion kit use 8.8 brake parts?

I think so, but not sure I have not had to change the rear brakes yet:rolleyes:

I know a guy that has bought the kit, the one from teraflex and they gave him a parts list incase of needing to replace anything and it was all over-the-counter parts.

I'm sure I could go buy all new stuff for a Grand Cherokee, and just put it on my C8.25. I think it would just be more expensive than getting the backing plates and calipers from a junk yard.

Don't forget all the little bits you need to buy that go along with that backing plate, springs, bolts, ebrake "drum" adjustment...

Acquire all the parts needed from a Grand Cherokee, years 1994-1998. Calipers, Backing Plate, Soft lines, all the hardware.
