what direction does the piston point?

the top of the piston is the way you read the piston size but i'm unsure of what direction to install it. if someone could help me that would be great.

The flat area (non-dished) goes on the passenger side IIRC.

I think you have it backwards my friend(no disrespect).These are pics of a stroker build with 19cc dished sealed power pistons but they go in the same way as any and as you can see the dip stick is the passenger side or the side with the filter and that is the side the dished side goes. Hope they help.

So that confirms that the non dished area goes where I said on the passenger or dizzy side of the engine. In other words the numbers on the piston are readable when standing at the water pump end(front) of the engine.

I guess I don't understand but the part that is not milled into the part with the writing in the pics above go on the drivers side. If that is what you are saying then I misunderstood you. On the pics at the top the .030 should be upside down when looking at them from the front of the engine.
