Sorry if I posted in the wrong place.

I have a question about my over head console in my jeep. Does anyone know if it came standard in most jeeps or is it an added extra? It has a place for your sunglasses, garage door opener, temp, compass, and four single lights.

Then is the wood grain dash a standard as well?

My jeep is a 1993 country edition.

I thought about getting one for my XJ. I'm sure someone with more information will answer better soon, but from my understanding they are pretty rare.

You see them from time to time on ebay. From what I've read about installing one is it can be a pain getting everything hooked up.

Hey...I'm special too!:jumping0044:

Can I play???
Overhead consoles were standard in some Jeep XJs depending upon the trim levels. It was also omitted if the XJ came with a sunroof, for obvious reasons. They are not too hard to retrofit since the wiring is already in place. You do need the compass sensor and the temp sensors but you need to search the J/Y for them b/c they are very expensive from a stealership.

The Jeep Cherokee Larado I found on the Oregon coast for sale had the same overhead console as mine. This was the first xj that I have found with this extra or trim package, and trust me I have looked in every xj that I could get near enough to see through their windows :D

So out of curiosity which would everyone prefer, Sunroof, Overhead Console, or neither?

My answer is easy, Overhead console, like knowing what the temp is outside too much, especially in the winter.

I think that the limited in all years had the overhead console and the next lower trim level also (their name varied from year to year) unless the sunroof was ordered.
