I got the front bumper completed last night, and it's ready to paint. Let me know what you guys think. I think it turned out great, even though I've been working on it for over a year off and on!!!

I hadn't ran a real bead in about three years, so needless to say my first couple of beads weren't the best!! After I got the cob webs knocked loose, it started going better!!

I'm using the shop of a short track race car mechanic, and builder. He is the local guru on frames and engines. He sponsors a couple of cars, and has two of his own, that he and his step son race. I guess it's much like our Jeep thing!! There is a dirt track near by, as well as a 1/4 mile oval, they have a good time. From what I've heard, he is a ninja when it comes to this stuff!!

You probably could learn a lot about brakes and engine rebuilding from them. Cool. However, you probably know all about that already.

Great job COS your welding skills far exceed mine. I only have one reservation and that is cutting the grill to install it. I would not want to do that but that is just me.

Was adding the winch an after thought? Will you have to cut into your grill to make room for the winch?

I'm in the Springs (well, actually Falcon) and would love to take my daughters to a dirt track race. Do you have info on this?

Also, hope to see you around town.

Looks good COS. You still working on your rear bumper? I'd love to see some pics of that one too. I especially like the way you were tying it into the frame.

The winch was planned all along. I knew from the beginning that I'd have to clearance the grill for the winch. Here in CO, at least the trails I run, approach angle is VERY important, so I wanted to keep as much of it as I could.

Well I'm glad I asked. Makes perfect sense now.

Again, I love the bumper and the winch placement. I have been thinking of ways on how to modify my JCR bumper into something like that. Maybe it'll happen within the next year.
