so me and some people off of naxja went out to a local canyon on my b-day.
this canyon is a great canyon that has something for everyone. to get to the top you can go through 4 different canyons in the valley ranging from mild rock roads to graded roads and then through prov with is the harder rocker part, that is what we went up for this trip. they all lead to the same place with is nice.

so we meet at a local grocery store @ 8:45 and left to the canyon @ 9:30 sharp. we had a pretty good turn out we had 7 rigs 6 xjs and a 4 door taco.

i will not be really posting the pics any any real order so you will see some from the lower part of the trail that is called the quarry/mini Rubicon then all the way to the tower. i have some really good pics of the mountains for the people that do not know what a mountain is.:D

ok to start it off hear is the lower part of the trail, what is cool about this canyon is it changes every year from the run off, this was not this big last year, now that hole is about 5 feet deep.

now on to the canyon, it is a narrow canyon pretty much all the way to the top.

This is what you get from the run off a lake right next to the trail, later next month this will be gone.

This hear is what we call the rodeo grounds it is just below the towers, the mountain you see in the back ground is what we call the west face, in the winter it is a crazy steep hill to climb on the sled. lots of people die every year:patriot: it slides in the winter about once a week. but we still climb it for some reason.

at this point some of the people had left us since they had a two hour drive back to the big city.:D

Ya if this canyon ever opens again! it was closed all summer due to damage from the run off. I hope they open it again this summer!

bad luck

Steve, did they ever reopen the canyon? I see it has been quite a while since you posted this. That is the problem with the government they close something temporarily and it ends up being a permanent closure. Thanks

The canyon is open. Another, ahem, xj group is headed on a run up there in mid July.
