Cut grass?? :smiley-chores044:
Got a BIG yard??

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010007.jpg

Well, when I bought my house.....I was faced with having to cut 4.5 acres of grass that grew so fast.......you could hear it growing!

So what are the options? Hmmmm, used tractor with a belly mower.....$5,000 or more for anything decent......a zero turn for typically $3500 with a deck 60" or larger..............or, I could build my own for less than $100.

Already owning a rider........I simply needed some sort of UPGRADE, so I built the TURF TERMANATER 8000! :greensmilies-017:

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010004.jpg

When towed and used in combination with the rider, I cut 80" at a time, 6th gear.....Full throttle! :driving:

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010002.jpg

SUPER EASY to build, total cost was well under $100.00.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010003.jpg

Heck, people practically give used push mowers away.......the key to the push mower motor is to find used self-propelled units, these mowers are typically 6hp instead of 3 or 3.5.....the 6hp will keep right up with the rider at full speed.

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010005.jpg

Today, like any other time I've cut over the last 2 years.......it took 2hrs and 15 minutes to cut the 4.5 acres.........FOR LESS THAN A HUNDRED DOLLAR INVESTMENT!! :smiley-chores044:

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/Detoursusa/7112010006.jpg

Keep in mind, the unit pictured is 2 years old and has sat out side for 2 winters, I never kept it pretty............

Interested? I can supply any photo or spec requested.............Keep your money in your pocket, build a TURF TERMANATER!!!

I just use the disc on the back of the tractor. Then I don't water it.

That's all very impressive, but where is the cover, ice tea/beer holder and ice chest addon to the riding mower?

Plus that looks like a perfect application for a dana 35!

I like it... now if you added a 3rd mower in the middle you could almost attached it to anything, say a bicycle, for those of us who don't currently have a riding mowed.

Tha is an awesome use of some old push mowers.. I would have went wider.. with more mowers.. if I thought of it:driving:

ALso you do need to add a cooler.. cutting that much grass has to take at least 12 beers. My yard is only a 1/4 of your yard.. and it takes me 3-4 beers to do mine:D

I like the bewildered part.

Grass Cutting & Beverages.........Non carbonated with lots of ice work best, like Bloody Marys, the celery provides an excellent snack as well, White Russians work well also.........best consumed during sunset cuttings.

I live on a 28 acre farm... talk about fun times mowing... luckly we have a bushhog for the tractor... but I still have to get out and use the pushmower for the areas that the bushhog won't fit into.... something like this would be awesome to put one of the kids at the barn on with a riding mower we got already... Very nice design...

Damn I wish I had your problem. Over here in Vegas the lots are barely big enough to fit the house and in some neighborhoods barely enough room between houses to walk between them.

This street is about a mile down the road from me and it cracks me up every time I pass it. Pure ridiculousness on the part of the builders.

These aren't houses these are 1 car garages with attached bathroom and kitchenette.:D

Pure lol at this crap.
