Okay, I have not had very much luck with ordering online so I thought I would ask everyone's opinion if you think this site looks legit. :)

Also is $63.95 a good price?

I read the verify message, but I still wanted a second, third, fourth etc. opinion

Yes it does, mine quit working about 6 months ago. I did replace the batteries but that has not helped.

Is it a factory remote?

$63 is high but where else are you going to get one. A new keyless system is only about $30.

Looks like the cheapest IR remote is about $60 before shipping. The RF remotes are as low as $15, but that won't work.

Remember your problem may not be the remote though.

The module that is built into the Jeep (reciever) may be the defective part. I don't know how to test them. Any ideas Audio?

Let me add a little more input.

A year and a half ago I dropped my keys for the uptenith time and the fob stopped working, when I opened it up I had broke something inside, so I paid a guy to sodder the piece back on. It worked great for another year until one day the light in the fob (the red one that flashes when you press either button) quit working. So I went and got new batteries for it (First time in over 5 years) put them in and the light flickered at me but then quit. I know the batteries are in right, I followed the directions inside my fob. So right now I do believe that it is the fob and not the jeep it's self. The red light still sometimes comes on when I press the buttons but it is very light and not at all as red as it used to be.

Speaking of the Module in the jeep, how would I check it? Or can I?

Yep, what you have is a factory remote. Although I thought that the '93 model still used the old type of remote (the square remote with one button)? Anyway, that one that you found for $60 will work just fine once it's mated with the module in the vehicle. You should check ebay though, you may find a better deal, or heck, even 2 remotes for the price of that one.

I checked, only $60, of course I assumed it was 1 remote.

I bought a new keyless transmitter from rick-hendrick jeep here in charleston and had it programmed for around $130.00.My module has since went out and I replaced it myself with one from a local salvage yard I used to work at.I got it out of a 99 xj with the transmitter and didn't have to program a thing.I just got lucky!
