I've had the new gasket for 2 weeks now but been busy working. :smiley-gen165:

To remove the valve cover is WAY harder than it needs to be. The wiring harness could be just a smidge longer IMO at the rear of the cover. Other than that it is a piece of cake.

One thing though, if you've never done this before, keep the steel washer/spacer that is inside the grommets under the bolts. I poped the old grommets out of the cover when I cleaned it up and threw them in the trash. DOH! You'll need the washer/spacers for the new grommets. Been nice if FelPro had that on the box, or even if the FSM had that little bit of info too!:mad0090: So I went dumpster diving into the trashcan to retreive them.

All this took care of about 99.9% of my oil leak...which had gotten REAL bad. I think the rear main seal is seeping some oil too. THAT will have to get ALOT worse before I mess with that! The topend was PERFECTLY clean, NO sludge nothing. I'm happy with that with 125,000 miles on the Jeep. I continue to swear by Castrol!

i think i need to do a rear main seal here pretty soon too. I just put some rear main seal stop leak in it, so far so good. I put the lucas oil one in there.

The remaining leak I have looks to be the o-ring on the oil filter adapter, hopefully not the rear main. The small spot is not centered under the Jeep, it is off to the right side. The starter and UCA on that side have oil on them. I can't see a rear main seal spraying oil on them, especially on top of the starter.

Don't know how much of a pain it is to change out the o-ring. When I can get to that I hope it is fairly simple.
