I thought some of you might find this interesting. Here are some before and after comparison shots of BigRed vs our new JK Build. What's really interesting is... the after comparison shots. Complete album is here: http://jeepin.net/fotos/JK/before_and_after

"Before" shots of the JK are stock Rubicon trim. "After" shots are with RE 3.5" suspension lift and 35" BFG KM2 tires. BigRed is running a 5.5" RE lift with well-worn 35" GY MT/Rs and a good dose of fender trimming to clear them.

Line up the front, and the back lines up perfect as well.

Fender gap & height are almost identical:

Useless trivia: despite appearing almost the same in height, my XJ has a full 3" more clearance under the oil pan than the JK does, and it's got just over 1" more ground clearance under the belly skid.

And just 'cause I though it was a cool shot:

So, depending on the weight distribution, the XJ should have a lower center of gravity.

Don't forget, the JK is full width.

Probably not actually. Remember, the JK has a full frame, plus bigger and heavier axles, and the gas tank on a JK sits much lower than an XJ's. According to the "official" curb weights from Jeep, a stock JK Unlimited Rubicon is nearly 1000lb heavier than a stock XJ. :shocker: A stock TJ is actually stated as being heavier than an XJ even.

Very interesting, and I thought the XJ was heavy. Well maybe that's just the sucky brakes.

Yup, sucky brakes. The XJ is very light for what it is. That is a plus in my opoinion
