If you are replacing everything, disassemble it with a pickle fork. If you don't have one, it is a good investment and a great time and effort saver. Just take the castle nut off and whack the pickle fork and they come apart. The boots get buggered up though. But if you are replacing, it is perfect.

first think after alignment for sure. like 4.3xj said pickle forks are nice and they are not that much get it from the parts store. also measure before you take it off so you can set up the new one to match as close as you can get it.

yes a pickle fork helps, but it is a pretty easy and straight forward processes... I did however leave the steering stabilizer connected to the drag link and just took it out together. Why bother disconnecting when they are both coming out? I assume you are replacing it as well???

Well I did not use a pickle fork. Everything came out easy and without to much force. I got an aliment done and now the ride is so much better. The wheels don't wonder anymore and I don't feel every little bump in the road as much. This is definitely a must do.
