Mine has done this since I bought it new. I took it back to the dealership within the 30k miles and they "said" they fixed it. They didn't. It still does it. I start noticing it about about 1/4 tank but only slightly. At 1/8 tank and lower everything slows down, of course this is really only on hard left turns. I notice it slightly on right turns (I seem to remember).

So sorry no solution for you just some misery loves company.

Same here. Drop tank take out and replace. I thought it was closer to $300. If you do yours take pictures! :rotfl2: :camera:

Yikes, that is expensive for a fuel filter. For that kind of money I would just bypass that and put in some after market filter elsewhere.

i dont think it the filter. what kind of baffles are in the gas tanks? might try to find one with extra baffles to keep the gas near the pump. i might drop it next weekend and look in side top see if i can find anything wrong.

I have read/been told that it is a one piece assembly. Fuel pump, pickup, filter... cha ching!

For $300 you could pull a tank from the JY and use a renix style pickup, sending unit and a brand new GM style pump in it and have plenty of change left over.

I would do that conversion if I could save that $300. I have a spare fuel pump from a Renix era pump and the pickup is just a normal type. unless yours is a strange tytpe you may be able to use a Renix era pump in your 98+ tanks too.

When it starts doing it in a straight line you'll fix it. :smiley-laughing021:

you need to go to the parts store and get some duct tape and blinker fluid that should fix it.

can you smell any gas when you are driveing or anything when is the last time you done a tune up. on my renix it does this but it is because im leaking fuel out of my fpr so it might have something to do with that?

You need to fix that before you get stranded.

lol thats why im pickin ya'lls brain. when i filled up last night it was above a 1/4 tank and stallin on turns. after i filled up it didnt do it. i took 12.052 gallons to fill it up. alldata sayes its a 20 gallon tank. by my math thats an 8 gallon diff. would 8 gal put it up over a 1/4 or is my gas gauge off

I've never got more than 18.5 gallons in mine. So you had a little over 5 gallons left.

ok dropped the tank last night and replaced the filter on the bottom of the pump module. the old one was small and dirty the new one was about 3 times bigger. at an 1/8 of a tank when i turned left it didnt stall as bad it did do it but was like it was when i got it.

So you only replaced the filter and not the $200+ everything? Need more information, because I think I need to do mine.

I think the 2000 had the sending unit in the top. The rest had them in the front of the tank. To verify, crawl underneath and see if the hoses and wires come out of the front. If so, it would be easy to take care of.
