Things are really going to get bad for Obama, and dems if they don't make a RIGHT turn fast.

I can agree with that.

They don't even know that right exists.

If that's true then politics are about to become very interesting. In a laughing and shaking your head kind of way. Yes even more so.

They do seem to be in some sort of denial. I think they have been removed from the common people so long that they really don't have any idea.

We really don't need an amendment. We are not paying attention to that document anymore.

There shouldn't need to be any amendments to constitutions on that subject. However, due to the push, now I guess it is inevitable.

No....There was no plan to ammend the Constitution. NO ONE'S rights are guarrantied by the Constitution anyway. The Constitution was written to limit the amount of power the Federal Government can have. It's "supposed" to be read "if it's not written in the Constitution", then the Federal Government cannot impose it's will on THAT subject on the people. Of course that's been totally ignored. I don't see anywhere that the Constitution says a woman is intitled to an abortion. Of course I don't see anything in it about a Federal income tax either.

The Constitution CAN be ammended, but it requires a majority of the state's to radify/approve the ammendment. It was/is supposed to difficult to ammend it. The Founding Fathers wanted it that way.

Your "rights" come from the Bill of Rights. The thing most forget/ignore is that what comes with those "rights". It's called responsibility. Age old example... You CAN yell FIRE in a crowded theater, but you also have to accept the responsibility for doing so. Total freedom is called anarchy.

After reading thru my two kids senior Government book, they don't teach "government" anymore. Most in this country are clueless as to how our republic form of government is supposed to work.:patriot:

I enjoyed the 8 years of G.W. Bush, and wish we had another conservative in the presidency. I would prefer one that didn't spend like G.W. did. Also one that would reduce the size of our government, push for congressional term limitations, and do something about health care like tort reform and the ability for the insurance companies to sell insurance nationwide.

The nice thing is I really don't have to get too concerned now, because the current people in congress on are the way out. It's going to be a blood bath this November. Sad for the folks that like the way they are running the country I guess, but poles have shown those people are clearly in the minority.

I kept telling people that were concerned about Obama wining that he was just one man, and he couldn't do anything alone.

Something you have to remember is that even though the press conveniently blamed Bush for everything, it was Congress that enacted the housing and lending policies that got us into the housing situation we currently have and the necessity to bail out banks. He went before Congress, and it is on record, and told them they were being irresponsible with these policies and that they would bring disaster. The people responsible for some of the worst of this were Obama and some other key Dems. If you want to truly put the blame someplace, put it where it belongs. The Pres doesn't appropriate money or tell banks what to do.

but the majority of Bushs terms it was not a dem controled congress - I dont agree with pointing the finger at one individual myself that is why we have a 3 part gov. Just as I do not agree with people trying to blame Obama for not getting the mess cleaned up as soon as he took office - hell he has only had a year but people seem to think that "change" happens immediatly and that is just not the case.

There has been a lot of immediate change. Look at the way Congress has been acting. And just look at the corruption in the people he appointed. A local black columnist asked a question in his column, "Can any politician coming out of Chicago be honest?" He was also from Chicago.

but but, it's a political section! lol That's why I created this separate so people could avoid it if they didn't want to discuss (or read) politics and religion.

Those are some funny bumper stickers though. Thanks!
